(and closer to the Water too!) - Wednesday, September 30 Today we got to enjoy one of our favorite pastimes - visiting a wildlife refuge. In this case it was the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge, located near Vian, Oklahoma (between Sallisaw and Muskogee) at the confluence of the Arkansas and Canadian Rivers. As you might expect, in the proximity of so much water much of the refuge is devoted to wetlands. While the refuge is home to many species of wildlife, it’s main focus is providing wetland habitat for waterfowl migrating up and down...
