Aug 23, 2012 - OTRA - OK - Foss
And now we're in Oklahoma, at the Foss State Park. This is a nice park with 3 or 4 separate campgrounds spread out over 5 or 6 miles but we chose the Cedar Point area because there are sites right on the lake. But these were pull-thru sites (front towards the lake) and the front of our house is the bedroom area so we really didn't have a view of the lake except from the living room or if we were sitting outside. It seems like a lot of people just leave their campers here week to week and come up on weekends because we basically had the...

Oct 2, 2011 - Windy Oklahoma
We got into Oklahoma yesterday and found the NICEST rest stop (that doubles as a tornado shelter, I am not kidding) that we have ever seen. There were great people to help you with all kinds of maps and brochures and they had the sweetest accents you ever heard :) I cannot download many pictures right now because we are camping at Foss State Park and have limited access. You can go to: www.oklahomacampers.com/foss.htm and see it for yourself :) if you are ever in windy Oklahoma. We were going to have dinner outside last night but I was...

Nov 8, 2008 - Foss Lake State Park, OK
We made it to Texas yesterday afternoon and stopped at the Wonderland RV Park, Amarillo, TX. This morning, we decided to take Livi for an outing and work off some of her pent up energy. We found a small Zoo that had lions, tigers, bears, and best of all, spider monkeys. This zoo even had a small playground for Livi to hang out in. So we spent a lovely morning looking at animals, running around and having our snack in the Amarillo City Zoo. It was the perfect size for us. It had enough cool animals to see but was small enough that when Livi...

Oct 26, 2008 - Day 48 Mora NM to Foss OK
Day 48 (Sun. 10/26) Hey Everyone! John here.....We're beginning to pull some really long driving days to get home by Thursday. Today we left New Mexico crossed the Texas panhandle and made it to Foss Lake State Park in 6 and a half hours. It was a very windy drive and were greeted by a very windy campground. When we entered the state park we drove down by the lake that was white capped with waves that smacked the shore like the ocean. Thank God there was another campground offshore but it was still very windy...windy enough to blow our...

Happy Birthday To Me - 60 years! Checked my email before going to bed (it was after midnight) and there was a birthday card from Cirque du Soleil...animated of course. The message read "May Your Brithday Be The Beginning Of Another Great Journey"...how appropriate! I had a relaxing morning and got a fairly late start. My first stop was in Arcadia at the Old Round Barn built in 1898 of native burr oak. As part of the restoration, the Historical Society is putting in a brick walkway. I bought a brick for my birthday present...it reads "Sharon...
