Nov 22, 2009 - Pecan Pickin'

A Happy birthday wish goes out to our Daughter-inlaw, Heather. Hope it's a happy one!!What a wonderful weekend we have had. Beautiful weather both Saturday and today. This morning, we picked up about a ½ gallon of pecans from the yard. Esther and Ralph live on a small lot on Ralph’s brother’s 100 acre farm which is mostly pasture land with a couple hundred Pecan trees. Nov 21, 2009 - A visit to Bixby

Today, we took Cousin Esther with us to find Debi’s 2xGGrandmother, Georgia E (Lauderdale) Hill-Ketchum’s marker in Bixby. We drove the back road, Old US-75, from Beggs to Bixby, what a trip through time. You can just see how time has stood still for some of the smaller towns, no “Fast-Food” restraunts, big grocery stores, or department stores, only ma & pa type gas stations, and (sadly) empty buildings, of business long gone. Nov 20, 2009 - Back in Beggs, OK

Today we crossed the mighty Mississippi for the 3rd time in less than 3 weeks. At least this time, the weather was good and the view was very nice. We traveled along I-44 until we got into Oklahoma, and then we cut south, taking a different road down to Beggs. We have been very lucky with good weather nearly the whole trip, thus far. A little bit of rain this evening, but really it looked as if we had just missed the storm. Debi’s cousins confirmed that they had had a lot of rain earlier this morning
