Nov 8, 2011 - It's My Birthday!

Today’s my birthday and I am very fortunate to have many friends that called, sent texts, e-mailed or Facebooked me with wishes. I had an idea of how my day was going to go and from the very beginning, it didn’t go as planned. In the first part of my morning, I was up, piddling around and talking with friends on the phone. Often I get up and let Luci sleep in until I get dressed and put her out. But, today, that wasn’t a good idea. Luci started barking and before I could get to her she had peed in the bed! I have a water-proof mattress pad...

Nov 7, 2011 - Moving from Robbers Cave to Beavers Bend

I got up fairly early and started readying the trailer for my trip to Beavers Bend. I mapped out my route and wrote detailed directions for getting there. I got on the road about 11:00. The drive was beautiful. It was cloudy at Robbers Cave, but not raining. As I drove I passed through patches of blue sky, sunshine and hazy weather, driving in the clouds, over the clouds and in and out of rain. I drove mostly in the Quachita National Forest and the Quachita Mountains. I only had about 120 miles to drive, but it took me over three hours...

Sep 15, 2011 - Beavers Bend 2011

With the release from my doctor, we were anxious to hit the road. We were all packed up and ready to leave and a big rain storm came in. Our daughter's driveway is about 5 miles on dirt roads, so we chose to delay our departure to give the roads time to dry out. 10am Saturday, April 16, we headed south. We arrived at Johnson Creek COE campground about 4pm. We had a beautiful site, backed up to the lake and overlooking the water. We were blessed with a beautiful sunset and just relaxed. We had one of the best night's sleep we have ever had:)...
