We kept warm as we overnight ed in a Wal-mart parking lot just South of Nashville Tenn. think the new one is as well insulated as the old one. We're glad to be home and Sally is concerned about her mother. It's cold here.

Mar 4, 2012 - March 2nd

Well, we did manage to get some sleep last night. The area did calm down late in the night. Many of you know about the bad weather that was going on this day. Well I can say we didn't see the worst of it. It was windy driving but not anything like what you are seeing on TV. We did see prolonged rain in Northern Alabama in the morning and constant gusting of wind that made small steering corrections a constant. We did get in a downpour on Northern Kentucky and pulled to the side of the Interstate to wait for 7-8 minutes for it to subside. We...

We left Nashville this morning about 7 AM. We arrived home about 4:30 PM. We traveled We traveled 360 miles today. We spent 50 minutes in Kentucky nearing Louisville, in a traffic jam. We traveled 2 miles in that time. Ween we were able to proceed at normal speeds nothing was seen that caused the jam. It was generally a cloudy and cool day to travel. We didn't see snow until north of Dayton and ground cover around Troy and several inches at home. Ho well welcome back I guess.

Dec 14, 2010 - Preperation

We took the motor home in to have the generator looked at. Started out as needing new brushes. Things got worse. The voltage regulator was bad. Then another part was found to be defective. Total estimated cost was $850. We gave them the go ahead. When they started the found yet another problem. The part that holds the windings in place was broken. Estimated cost was over $2000. We decided not to fix it and we will travel without a generator. We're ready to get out of this cold weather and plan to leave December 28th.
