Camped with Pam and Doug for the weekend to say our goodbyes as we are racing southwest to try to beat hurricane Sandy that is coming from the east. Spent that Saturday at Marie's to wish her a happy birthday and say our goodbyes to the family that was gathering for her occasion.

Jul 7, 2011 - Today begins month 5

Today is July 7 and we left Decatur GA March 7. We are beginning month # 5. Man has time flown by. Hard to believe we spent 26 days in NY State but we have moved on and are in Ravenna OH just outside of Akron. Heading for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this morning. Actually I am, Shirley is opting out and going shopping. After a wonderful breakfast at Billy and Linda's camp we were on our way but before we left NY we stopped into Chautauqua NY. Aug 3, 2010 - Tuesday Morning at Campground

Tuesday morning, woke up at a lazy 9 AM. Lady normally gets us up by 6 or 7 AM. Lady has never slept this late. Apparently, we wore her out from the hikes yesterday. Met our two next door neighbors. Chuck and his wife are from Vicksburg, MI and Florida respectively. Don and Kathy are from Bismarck, ND. Chuck is caregiver for his wife who has ALS. He's retired from the Army after 20 years. /// Friday – April 16, 2010 A Travel Day Reporting from West Branch State Park – Ravenna, OH We had an overnight low temperature of 51 degrees. After a brief early morning rain shower, we started to hitch-up. We left Richmond, IN by 8:30 AM. I was very glad to escape the terrible roads in Indiana. From LaGrange we headed out on our longest leg of the journey so far. We are heading to Frederick, MD so got on the Ohio Turnpike and headed east, me pulling the 5th wheel and Pat driving the PT Cruiser following me. Our long way south is planned so we can attend the Dachshund Club of America Annual Specialty shows in Frederick, MD. We drove to the Country Acres Campground in Ravenna, OH. On Wednesday, we left Marion and drove to Northwest Ohio; we're staying at West Branch State Park. ... beautiful fall colors and sunset. Yesterday morning, we took a cool bike ride around the park. Then, in the afternoon/evening, we went to Berea/Baldwin Wallace College to visit Marc (one of Krista's best friends from high school) and Detra West. Aug 25, 2007 - To Ravenna, Ohio

Today we had a fairly long drive from Chillicothe to Ravenna, Ohio, but it didn't take us as long as we had originally estimated. Always a nice surprise. We'll be staying for the next two nights at Country Park Campground. It is raining tonight so we're staying in. We both need to get caught up on our journals and other things anyway. I had a minor accident this evening. When I opened the door to the cabinet below the sink, my big heavy flashlight fell out and made a direct hit onto my little toe. Yeow!!! It made me hold my breath for a while.
