Jul 11, 2011 - Maumee Bay State Park

We found the best state park we ever stayed in at Maumee Bay near Toledo. It was really an awesome park. The roads were all paved, as were the parking sites. We stayed for one week. Again we had a site on a cul de sac of the second loop in the park. Ou site was really large and separated from or neighbors by trees and hedges. It was very pleasant. There'd was a paved bike trail down to the beach. We kayaked in a small lake there. Again we had really nice neighbors and we went over to their campfire and listened to him play the harmonica....

Jun 13, 2008 - Maumee Bay State (OH) Park

On Tuesday, we drove from Hopkins, MI to Maumee Bay State (OH) Park, near Toledo. Along the way, we stopped in Wauseon, OH to visit one of Krista’s college roommates, Theresa Vietmeier and her family. We had a fun visit and agreed that we should get together more than once very 10 years. On Wednesday, we played golf at the State Park course. It was hot enough that we wanted to leave the RV and Woody at the campsite hooked up to electricity for the air-conditioning. Aug 21, 2007 - A Feast for the Senses in Maumee Bay

A Feast for the Senses Dragonflies with blue bodies and screened wings Yellow buttercup butterflies Humid air with a cool breeze that teases Barnswallows chase the bugs and I am grateful for their lives' avocation Crickets hum Something else buzzes one note higher Soleil's "wow" at a great cast The sun races against the clouds Birds chirp The dizzying flight pattern of the all-too-close barnswallows Bees buzz How is it possible that it's not all just noise and chaos??? (What a glorious day in Maumee Bay State Park in Oregon, Ohio!!)
