Oct 20, 2017 - Shelby/Mansfield KOA

We wenet back to this KOA just for the Halloween bash. It was actually really good! They took us, via hayride, to the "haunted barn". It was top notch! I would do this again. All the people were decked out in scary outfits and they looked professional! Last camping trip for 2017. It was a great camping year!

Aug 13, 2017 - Shelby/Mansfield KOA

We stayed at the Shelby/Mansfield KOA over the weekend. Really nice place! A lot to do there, nice pool, ponds, activities. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner. One of the best KOA's we have stayed at. It is located smack dab in the middle of the country in no where land. lol Absolutely beautiful surroundings. The video shows it. While there we visited the old Mansfield prison, where Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Really liked it and would highly recommend anyone to take the tour. Very interesting! Tom and Diane Primore drove up, but not...

Jul 23, 2013 - Oh no, not again....

AAA knows us well! We had our second blow-out on the same back tire. We were trying to get to Akron,Ohio... only 88 miles away. BUT, it didn't workout for us. We were able to drive 20 miles on our spare, to Mansfield. Our new friend, Nick, put 14 ply tires on our RV. He said, "that blow-out will not happen again!" He doesn't know our luck!! Four new tires and off we go. We made it to the Corp of Engineer Park and backed into a lovely site around 8:30pm. We were so exhausted, we forgot it was electric only...meaning we didn't have enough...

Nov 7, 2009 - Ohio

Ohio We left Andy’s place on Saturday, after the weather cleared up. It was a beautiful day for a bike ride. We took the secondary roads Andy had shown me on the map, and were given spectacular views of the Niagara Escarpment. It was really great to see. I so often think of southern Ontario as Toronto; that big city we all love to hate. Here we were, less than an hour out of the city, and it is really beautiful. Our planned destination for no particular reason was Mansfield Ohio. We needed a route that kept us west of the Appalachian...

Oct 8, 2009 - Zip through Amish Country

The day began nice, early start, made good time out of Huntington, WV and we got as far as the Fenton Glass Factory and SALES JOINT. Needless to say, our great speed on the road came to a screeching stop. After about 1 1/2 hours snooping at the Glass Factory and having lunch at a local place, we were back on the road again, for our destination of Millersburg, OH, which is a major Amish community. Traffic on the road there was a mess and there were many copy-cat places. Once in Millersburg, we couldn't find the Amish stuff and it was 4 PM...

Sep 11, 2007 - Mid Ohio Racetrack

The weather heading into Ohio was threatening , but it never really rained - which in some states would be a bad thing, but here it's a good thing. (A couple of weeks ago the track where we're going was flooded and closed.) We're headed to the Mid Ohio Racetrack near Mansfield, a track I've heard about for years but have never seen. Our son-in-law Rich Norgrove is racing there next weekend and we want to be there to see him and help him if we can. He races a Factory Five Ford Cobra and the Factory Five group is having their national...
