Jul 21, 2012 - Parade Day!
Today was parade day for the flexible owners. A total of twenty nine buses and two Flxible funeral cars participated in this years parade. Thanks to the good people at Your Digital Partners Lauren was able to get a roof top view of the event. After the parade we got the bus ready for the open house. Anyone who stopped by the bus got the grand tour from Ranee. Highlights of the tour included an explanation of sleeping arrangements, grandma's pill drawer, and her favorite part of the bus: the TV. Too many to count squeezed through our tiny...

Jul 20, 2012 - A Couple of Lazy Days
Our time in Loudonville has been pretty laid back. Yesterday we slept in, wandered around town, and went to a group dinner. Today we managed to get up in time for group breakfast (8:30) and spent the rest of the day socializing with other flxible bus owners and doing laundry. We also tried playing corn hole down at the park, but quickly realized we would have to give up on our dream of going pro.. haha. Tomorrow the busses will drive through town so check back for pictures from the parade.

Jul 18, 2012 - On to Loudonville
After a morning of frantically cleaning the bus in preparation for visitors, we started on the 50 mile journey through farmland and one horse towns to Loudonville Ohio. The highlights of the trip included corn fields, an alpaca farm, and multiple dear sightings (although most of them were made of plastic). We arrived at Mohican Adventures campground just before lunch as a storm started to blow in. The campground is the temporary home of about forty fellow Flxible owners for the 2012 Loudonville Flxible owners international bus rally. We...

Jul 14, 2012 - The Mohican Pow Wow
After we finished lunch, we headed over to the Mohican Pow Wow. It had quit raining for the most part by the time we were finished eating. We were certainly glad for our chairs with the overhead awnings today. It was really hot and muggy. Even with have my face shaded, I ended up with a burn on my arms and feet. There was sometimes a life-saving breeze. I can't believe how warm these dancers were in all their regalia. We found that as with most Pow Wows that we've attended, there is always a lot of down time between performances. It seems...

Sep 17, 2011 - Log Cabin Days
From scenic Hills RV Park – Millersburg, OH Another Saturday in September spent at another wonderful festival………..Log Cabin Days! This September tradition is sponsored each year by Hochstetler Milling and takes place on the grounds of their mill in Loudonville. Hochstetler Milling is owned by Levi Hochstetler who as an Amish youth learned the age-old building techniques that the Amish and Mennonite people have practiced for generations. Today he uses this knowledge to create quality log home packages. But the Log Cabin Days weekend is all...

Aug 5, 2010 - Mohican Reservation
We had been battling a leaky tire since we left home and finally decided it was time to deal with it. On the way to Mohican we stopped at good ol' Walmart to get the tire replaced. They took care of us right away and we were on our way with a new tire in no time. Mohican is on a canoeing river where you put your canoe in upstream and float/paddle/drink your way down stream to your campground. Chris’s son Bobby and his wife Erin came with their tent for a weekend of camping with us followed by her son Michael and his wife and two kids with a...

Jul 15, 2010 - Ohio Amish Country
We drove about 4 hours southeast to a rural area of Ohio. We came to this area last year and really loved the small Amish towns and the Mohican River for lots of fun water recreation. We were pretty tired by the time we got in, so we just turned on the air conditioning after we arrived and relaxed. Duke enjoyed his walk too with a new place to sniff and leave his mark. We went out for an early dinner and called it a day. Luckily, the heat and humidity are less here than they were in Indiana. Friday, we headed out to Berlin, which is a town...

Aug 23, 2009 - Loudonville, OH
Loudenville is just a stop over point to recharge. We did tour town. It is very small. We made the farmers market on Saturday morning, went to the grist mill and found that they were having a Colonial reenactment this weekend. Believe it or not, the campgrounds name we are staying in is Wally World.

Jul 30, 2009 - Still enjoying Amish country
We woke up to a rainy morning but it soon cleared and we were just left with some puddles for Duke to walk through. Mid-morning Lee and Nancy left the campground and started their journey to North Carolina. We’re really going to miss traveling with them. It was great to see them again after almost 3 years. So after lots of hugs, we said good-bye with promises to keep in touch and the possibility that Lee and Nancy will join us on our Michigan tour next year. Jay and I then packed up and moved to our membership campground which is only a few...

Jul 28, 2009 - Ohio Amish Country
On Tuesday, we caravanned with our friends Nancy and Lee from the Lake Erie area of Ohio to the Amish country area. Nancy and Lee were supposed to be heading for North Carolina this morning but when I checked in to see what time they were leaving, Nancy told me that they'd be staying with us a couple more days. We were thrilled! So with Lee and Nancy in the lead, we drove for about 2 hours on some U.S. and state highways to Loudonville, OH. Our RV park has two lakes, paddleboats, a swimming pool and quite a bit more. They parked us in the...
