Aug 19, 2017 - Homerville oh

We are at a KOA that is off beaten path with lots of kid activities, however have Dish reception and space although back in is level with no trees. We stopped in Upper Sandusky at a Loves travel center. They have just opened and had time to look at the tire right then. Took it off, checked it out, could not identify the problem, filled it up, did not charge us for their time.

May 20, 2017 - Homerville, Ohio

2017-05-18. Homerville, Ohio KOA After crossing into Ohio, we dropped down from US 6 and ultimately wound up going eastbound on US 224 in an effort to avoid I-80/90 which is a toll road across Ohio and quite expensive for a big RV. US 224 ultimately leads to the Akron area but before you reach the big city, you drive through rolling Ohio farmland; much nicer than the flat, monotonous farmland of northern Ohio. This area, near Holmes County, is the heart of the Ohio old order Amish and we saw many carriages traveling the roads. The...

Sep 12, 2010 - Last One Homerville

This will be out last update from the awesome, tiny town of Homerville. We really enjoyed our laid-back days here. Jerry caught a lot of fish and enjoyed the relaxation. We loved all the Amish shops and locally grown vegetables. I am adding a few pictures of downtown Homerville and a few more of the Amish farms etc. We will be driving to Decatur, Indiana in the morning. We will finally be getting that cracked window replaced. It will be nice to look out that window and be able to see again. Check back later for more from Decatur, Indiana.

Sep 10, 2010 - Amish Auction

Today we visited one of the local Amish auctions Homerville, Ohio. The auction is like a huge flea market, but they auction all the produce etc. It was so cool to see one buggy after another full of all the fresh produce grown on the local farms being taken to the auction. They put tags on every batch, everything as small as one pie all the way up to 100 watermelons in a wagon. Buyers come from all over the area to bid and take back to their local restaurants, grocery stores etc. It was one of the neatest auctions we have ever visited. We...

Sep 9, 2010 - Fishing & Relaxing

We have been in a very relaxed mode. We have been doing a lot of fishing and relaxing. The campground we are staying in has a free fishing pond. It is stocked with bass, bluegill, trout and catfish. One catfish is said to be over 60 pounds. It you catch him you receive a prize. Not sure what that prize will be yet, but will keep everyone posted. The campground only has a few people camping, they will be closing for the winter soon. We are enjoying having the place to ourselves. It has huge grassy sites with 50 amps and a sewer. What a great...

Sep 6, 2010 - Wildwood Lakes RV

We drove to Homerville, Ohio today. We are staying at the Wildwood Lakes RV Park. We almost have the park to ourselves. Homerville is located about one hour from Cleveland, Ohio. The park has a wonderful lake for fishing and you don’t have to have a license. Jerry has been pulling out all the fishing equipment and getting it ready. We love the rustic, country setting of the park. We also saw a lot of Amish people in the area. We have a lot of exploring to do, let the fun begin.
