May 19, 2013 - Journey's end

To all good things must come an end and so does this journey. We are ready to be home again and see how spring is springing around our property. We left things in good hands with Joanne and Adam looking after flowers and birds and our granddaughter Ariel getting things sorted out in the flower beds outside. We followed many pretty country roads as we travelled North and saw some beautiful signs of spring everywhere we went. So many colourful flowers and busy birds getting their nests in order. Jun 29, 2012 - Almost a record

Hot was the key word for yesterday. It reached 102 in the afternoon that's 4 degrees lower than the record 106 we had last summer in Nebraska. But is was plenty hot. So hot that Shirley actually went swimming in the lake at the campground. Our spot for the night is very beat and expensive but we are coming into a long string of gratis nights as we will be visiting friends and relatives for the next few weeks. On our trip yesterday we stopped into a little town named Berne. A Swiss town all done up like the Alps with a huge clock centerpiece...

Apr 15, 2011 - Findlay OH

Friday April 15, 2011 On advice from the RV host we avoided I-65 since there was bridge construction and drove up old US 31E, former main road north prior to I-65. We always enjoy these since they bring back a lot of relevant history with the old town main streets and vintage motels and gas stations. A bonus was travelling through Hodgenville KY, birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. His birth home, home he was raised in and the elementary school he attended all beautifully reconstructed by National Historic Dept. Drove east on the Blue Ridge...

Sep 5, 2009 - Findlay, Ohio

Sept. 5, Saturday, It was a travel day and we stopped at a Labor day celebration. Saturday in the Park. They had food, games for the young and old, and a car show. We strolled around, had a chili dog and back on the road again. Stayed in Findlay, Ohio.

(Leaving: St Ignace, MI - Destination: Findlay, OH - 422 miles) 06:45 AM Betty wakes Jo Ann up with a shake! We did not set an alarm this morning. This will be a travel day with no sights to visit. We are headed home! So, we all get up and get showers. 08:00 AM We walk up the hill to the office for breakfast. We have the same old cereal, the same old white donuts, plus a blueberry muffin. 08:30 AM We get back to the room and decide to finally feed the sea gulls. They have been so patient waiting every day for a handout. We have some left...
