Aug 20, 2012 - Catch the four nineteen

We all said our goodbyes and hit the road at 9 AM. 419 miles later we pulled into the same hotel we stayed in on our way west in Elyria OH. It was a nice day to drive and we split the duties while we listened to a book on tape. The high light of the trip was bumping into Jim and Debby in a rest stop and seeing them twice on the highway as they were passing us. They were driving all the way home over 700 miles. The four of us went to dinner at Red Lobster. We hadn't been to a Red Lobster in over 30 years. Our dinners were great. Don and I...

Aug 10, 2012 - Oooo, this is so Erie

After Perkins breakfast we headed north west to Erie PA, our goal was to ride our bikes in Presque Isle State Park. Alas, when we arrived it was raining with a forecast for rain all day. Since this is a stop Don and Jeanne thought we would like we decided to drive though it. The park is right on the water and it certainly is beautiful. Almost as if it was on Que Don got a call from fellow BF'ers Jim and Deb who said they were on their way heading toward Wisconsin and were about 45 minutes from Erie. That was lunch time so we went to this...

Jun 22, 2012 - East Falls, Elyria

Our next stop was Elyria where we wanted to see the East Falls on the East Fork of the Black River. The falls are in downtown Elyria and beside the Police Station. There is a small parking lot for the falls. There is a small dam above the falls that was constructed for use by a now defunct power plant. The falls themselves have a drop of about 25'.

Sep 2, 2008 - To Elyria, Ohio

Tuesday, September 2 415 miles from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Elyria, Ohio Temperature high was 94 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have ever heard one, you will never forget it. An Indy Car engine at full song is something to behold. Our encampment was at the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds, home of the Milwaukee Mile Raceway. As I stepped out of the trailer this morning, I was riveted to the ground by that wonderful cacophony of sound that is an Indy Car engine putting out around...

Jun 24, 2008 - Cedar Point, OH

On Sunday, we drove from Marion, OH to Cedar Point, OH. On Monday, we met Krista’s friend and former co-worker, Dennis Klimmek and Dennis’ son, Adam at Cedar Point Amusement Park. It was a treat for us to share one of Ohio’s highlights with friends from California; and it was great for Bruce and Adam to have a partner for riding the Top Thrill Dragster.

Aug 5, 2006 - Carla Brown land, aka Oberlin, Ohio

Hey guys, So, it's been a lot of driving since the last entry. We left Ithaca and started our drive to Obi-land (Oberlin). After a few stops, and short detour around Erie PA and downtown Cleveland we finally descended upon The Feve just in time for last call. We have a new understanding of Carla Brown now that we have seen the motherland. We're off to Chi-town, and I'm sure that we'll have much to report next time. Don't forget to send us some guest book luvin. Love, ~~kk

Jun 10, 2005 - On the Road!

We're on the road at last. It's been an "interesting" day. We left at 11am with the RV mileage of 55,078 miles. We didn't make it out of the driveway before we had our first small problem. We always make a fairly hard stop in the driveway or lane to make sure all the cabinets are latched tight. Much safer to get up and secure things in the driveway rather than the highway. One of the top kitchen cabinets wasn't latched and plastic glasses came flying out. The kids and dogs all jumped. Three plastic glasses were the first casualties. We...
