110929-Thu-56981-We didn’t go anywhere today, so we ended up at 56981 miles. The boys are having fun. James O. is taking a nap and Evan is having some quiet time. Last night they were asleep by about 815 and slept until about 745 this morning. They have played baseball, walked around the park, rode the trike, and had lunch. So far it has been a good day - relaxed. I wrote the above at about 215pm. [10am] I am doing this on the next day as the boys when to bed about 815pm, and I had not space. They slept till about 8am, this morning.

Jul 25, 2010 - A GREAT SUNDAY
It started to rain as we took off for 9AM mass, only 73 degrees outside. St Mary church was 8 miles from the campground. Beautiful church filled with young families with children. Went to Tim and Carols for a great pancake and bacon breakfast prepared by Carol. In the afternoon we went to see SALT with Angeline Jolle at the cinema. Then out to eat at BJ, a great restaurant. Had a wonderful weekend with Carol and Tim. Please come and visit us in Florida next season. Good bye to good friends and relatives to boot. How Wonderful!!

Jul 24, 2010 - Nationwide Invitational Golf Tournament
Went to the Nationwide Golf Invitational. They give all there profit to Childrens Memorial Hospital. Afterwards went to the country club for dinner, Carol won this dinner thru her twix chapter. Thankyou very much. Wonderful day but when we got back to the camper we lost our electricity. The transformer for the campground blew. It was only in the 90s. We did not get air until 11PM. So we sat outside and talked with our neighbors.

Jul 23, 2010 - Friday Visiting With Carol & Tim
Great day Tim and Carol stopped to swim in the campground pool. Great afternoon, beautiful day we sat around and talked all afternoon. Drove to Tim and Carols' home and went to a great Italian restaurant. Had the best Veal Dinner. You should see the size of the Koi in their pond! Talked to Linda yesterday and she and Ken will not be able to meet us at Starved Rock. So there may be a change in the plans for the end of our trip.

Jul 22, 2010 - THE FIRST DAY
Great start, nice drive sunny and in the 80. We were here by 4pm. Once we got to the campground everything turned to S----. It started to pour. Then we had trouble setting up the camper. And the worst was our water line burst so no water to the camper. We will have a repairman (hopefully) stop tomorrow morning. We finally ate at 7. But tomorrow will be better. Carol and Tim are stopping tomorrow to swim and we are invited to dinner at their house. So things will get better.

Nov 18, 2009 - OTRA - OH - Delaware (Columbus)
Wow, talk about being in one place for any length of time! We’ve been here at Chip’s since September 12th! 66 days! But they were good days and I do so enjoy visiting my brother and sister-in-law. Anyway, hit the road (after many hugs from Bonnie and lots of tears from me) at 11:15 a.m. Forgot to print out the directions the night before so we stopped at the first rest area on the Ohio Turnpike so I could do that, but…..sure, I have a portable, battery operated computer but the printer needs electric! DUH! Had to write them out by hand and...

Oct 27, 2009 - Cross Creek Camping Resort
The rain has caught us again. Awoke to rain in the morning and drove through a constant drizzle all day. Left Nashville at about 9:00 and stopped just past Columbus, Ohio, another day of about 450 miles. Much of Kentucky and Ohio are nice fall colors although the rain made pictures tough. We went through Colunbus at 5:15 and I can not understand how people can put up with the traffic. Many exits off from Route 71 were backed up onto the freeway. 71 through Columbus is four lanes with an extra exit lane but traffic was still stopped at...

Jun 2, 2009 - Delaware, OH - Cross Creek Resort
Yes, we are going back and forth between Wilmington and Delaware! This time we're back at Cross Creek for two final doctors' appointments. It's a good thing we left Wilmington when we did - they received 67 mph winds in the area the day we left. We are grateful again for dodging the weather bullet.

Apr 15, 2009 - Rainy Day
Wednesday. We had a leisurely morning and drove up to Alum Creek SP in Ohio. Pretty easy trip and we took our time and even stopped again at a Wal-Mart for needed and wanted supplies. We drove all around the camp ground which looked pretty muddy most places. This park is on the Alum Creek resovior and appears that it would be very poplular during the summer. There were a few campers spread around some even in tents. We put the awning out and grilled hot dogs under it. The rain kept us inside and also made the bathrooms and shower house...

Nov 6, 2008 - Delaware, OH
On Tuesday, we drove from Lore City, OH to Delaware, OH … near Alum Creek Reservoir. We spent most of the day driving around the Columbus, OH area checking out options (in more detail than we did in August) for where to live beginning next spring. Later, it was fun being in Ohio, a critical swing state, to watch the election returns. Of course, the real fun for us Obama supporters was the final result!! After Woody’s vet’ appointment on Wednesday, we took a long bike ride (70+ degree weather in November!) on the Olentangy Trail to see the...

Sep 8, 2008 - Just Cruising Through the Cities
We started our driving day out at 9 AM and traveled 273 miles to end up in Delaware, Ohio. Where in the world is Delaware, Ohio??? We can't even find it on the map. We just kept driving until we figured it was time to stop for the day. Now we have a jump start on tomorrows trip and the day after that is a breeze with only 138 miles. It sure was some day on the road. Right outside Indianapolis there was a 5th Wheel on fire right on the shoulder of the road. Police and Ambulance was on the scene waiting for the fire truck. The owner had his...
