Aug 21, 2011 - Evergreen Lake Park-Conneaut,Ohio
We left East Moline,IL at 0730 and arrived at out last campground on this guys adventure. It was an almost 12 hour trip or 576 miles. We made a lot more stops than we normally do, mainly to stretch our legs and to use the little boys room. Mainly for me. Alec could go whenever he wanted to. We only have a five hour drive to the Scheffer's so I let the kid sleep in today. I'll have to roust him up pretty soon. The will be my last chance to flush out the toilet before putting it away again.Hopefully, we will have some more pictures before we...

Jan 27, 2009 - Still home!!
Well,we haven't left yet. The ice storm going through the Kentucky area, and the coming snow between there and here... have kept us home. We might have chanced it ourselves, but we wouldn't want to be laid up somewhere very cold for a long period of time with Ian. I was hoping we could get out of here before the snow. Everyone is suppose to get many inches all through Ohio. Thursday is suppose to be mild, so I guess we might get started then! The cats aren't good at hopping in the RV and going down the road. We had learned a few years ago...

Jan 26, 2009 - What We Are Leaving
Last Weekend this is what our front yard looked like. I really can't figure out why Lynda is ready to head south, can you? It just a normal (???) North East Ohio winter, isn't it. So what if the weatherman tells us we are more than 18 inches of snow over the average for this time of year. We remember how it was as kids. It always snowed in November and we never saw the ground again until March or April. Isn't that what winter is supposed to be? When we were kids, YES. Now, NO!

We found a nice little RV Park called Windy Hill Golf Club and Rv. We have not golfed in along time. We didn't do very good but it was fun. We left there and headed to Cleveland, Ohio to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We spend all day in there, lots to see. They charged us 21.00 to park so we just decided to spend the night in the parking lot. It wasn't bad, We had a great view of Lake Erie. But it was CHILLY!!!!!

Sep 17, 2008 - Conneaut, OH
Wednesday, September 17, 2008 Windy Hill Campground and Golf Course…Conneaut (extreme eastern Ohio just south of I-80) Our day was very uneventful as we sat on the interstate – I-80 - most of the day. Most of the I-80 we drove was a toll road so it was well maintained with very limited access. The truck stop/rest areas were all identical and very, very clean. There was lots of truck and RV parking areas and the exit and entrance access was smooth. There were about 3 that actually had an area designed especially for RV overnight parking with...

Mar 31, 2008 - Home
Well, we are here. We got here yesterday evening (Sunday). We had a wonderful trip, but it is always good to be home! I spent the last week or so just thinking of all the things I had at home I wanted to get done. After sitting around doing very little, I am hoping my body doesn't give out when I try to put it in gear! Today was Fred's Birthday, so we had to party some. Dave cooked pork steaks on the grill (dead pig... according to Fred!). I set the dining room for a party and baked potatoes. Mom did a cauliflower head in the micro..yumm......

Aug 27, 2007 - Lake Erie at Conneaut, Ohio
MORNING: Today we had a short drive to our next destination, so we arrived before noon. We will be staying two nights in Evergreen Lake Park at Conneaut, Ohio (pronounced con' ee ott). It is in the far northeast corner of Ohio on the shore of Lake Erie. One of the most interesting aspects of this area is the large number of covered bridges, some of them dating to the mid-1800s. At this park check-in time is 3:00 p.m., which is later than at most RV parks. They allowed us to pull into our sites but not hook up to the utilities. We asked...

Jul 29, 2005 - Ashtabula, Ohio
We stayed with Bethany's aunt and uncle and cousin in Ashtabula. Thanks for putting us up Gary, Terry & Cody and making us feel so welcome. Ashtabula is situated on the shore of Lake Erie and has some really nice beaches and parks on the lakeshore plus a cool harbour area. I can't really get my head around the fact that its a big lake and not the sea. It was so nice to stay in a house and have a proper bed for a few days. We went to a Minor League baseball game in Erie which was excellent fun. I'm getting quite into baseball especially as I...
