It is a day to relax and visit. We know a place in town that we like for breakfast. John fishes and catches fish. Alice and I talk. We go out for lunch. In the afternoon, I get the laundry done. We watch some TV. We have dinner in Wilmington with Alice’s mom. The food is wonderful as always. Alice has the baseball game on in the evening. This year her team is doing well and my team is not. We both enjoy baseball. It is a great way to spend the day. Our batteries are recharging. Tomorrow, we continue our trek home.

We travel south today. The GPS points us to the Interstate. We get out our maps. Route 68 will take us where we want to go. We have traveled this route before. We go through towns we have visited. By noon, we are at my friend Alice’s home. She has lunch ready. What perfect timing. It is time to relax. We have been driving for six days without stopping. We need a rest.

Today is again a day for visiting and resting. John is awake early and heads to the pond to fish. At 10:00, he heads back to the RV. The fishing has been good. John fixes stir-fry for lunch. The afternoon is spent cooking, doing the laundry and watching baseball. It is cold in Chicago. I hope that weather does not head our way. We have a dinner engagement with Alice’s mom, Geneva. Dinner is wonderful. Everyone enjoys looking at John’s carvings. Back at Alice’s, there is one more trip to the pond. Thank-you Alice and Pat. Our batteries are...

We start our morning trying to turn our RV and trailer around. We do not dare leave the blacktop. Alice has had a lot of rain in April. The back field is very muddy! We finally disconnect. We add a front wheel to the trailer and turn it around by hand. There is no problem. Alice and I join her mom for a pre-Mother's Day brunch. The food is again great. There is entertainment and we again have time to visit. It is a good morning. The brunch is Mother-Daughter so John stays at the house. Tomorrow we start our final trek toward home. He needs...

We wave goodbye to our campground hosts. We take the wide road out of the campground. We have breakfast and a Wal-Mart stop. We are now ready to move. We take the interstate toward Lexington. As we get off the interstate, there is an accident up ahead. We sit and wait. Finally, cars begin to turn. I push the detour button on our new GPS. We wind our way through a neighbor and find ourselves on a road through horse country. This is the high-end neighborhood! Every estate is huge with iron gates. It properties are beautiful! I may start...

Happy Mother’s Day We are up early. Peggy’s John fixes us a great breakfast! Peggy tells us that the Mare we saw yesterday had her foal during the night. Cool. We spend time outside with the animals. It is a much nicer day than yesterday although still a little cool. To Linda: “Come Visit Us!” - Peggy/John We are off again. As we drive down the road, I yell to John. “Look, there’s Milton Burro watching for us!” We head south to Blanchester, OH. We are on the interstate again but it is a much easier ride. Sep 4, 2007 - Day Trip To Yellow Springs
Today we are off to the town of Yellow Springs. It is a neat old town with lots of stores and is the home of Antioch College. The first shop we stop at is a rock shop. John has a long talk with the owners and I introduce Alice to Geodes. We cannot wait to get back to the house and open them. We stroll around town, stop for lunch and head to a fish decoy shop. Unfortunately, it is closed. There is a sign on the door about hours subject to change depending on the fishing! This is John's kind of place and we will have to visit it on our next...

Sep 3, 2007 - Day Trip to Caesar Creek State Park
It is Labor Day and it is another holiday for us to celebrate on the road. Alice takes John and me to Caesar Creek State Park. We tour the Visitor's Center but our primary goal is to get our permit to go fossil hunting. There is a large field of rocks here in the park with many, many fossils. Most of the fossils are shells or small pieces of coral. We sift through the rocks looking for a special fossil. Of course, all of the fossils are special because we are finding them ourselves. We will have to do this again. The afternoon is for...
