Part 1 We start our day heading south on Route 83. Several years ago, we found A Touch of Honey in Linton, ND. They sell great natural honey. We revisit them. After shopping, we discuss our day. We can travel back north to the interstate. We can take Route 13 east. Anyone who knows us, knows which route we pick!

Well, fishing in North Dakota hasn’t been too good. I caught 1 walleye the whole time we were here and it was too small to keep. Roger did a little better. He at least caught one keeper. It just wasn’t our year for fishing in North Dakota. So, when you can’t catch fish, what do you do? You catch the pontoon boat shuttle and go across the river to the Prairie Knights casino, of course! This was our first time to go over there. Turns out it’s a pretty good Indian casino. Aaaah, North Dakota, now I’ll catch Roger in the fishing derby. I caught a lot of fish here last time we came here to fish. Wrong! Turns out a lot can change in two years – like all the big fish could be gone. I got one walleye “keeper” the first day and that was that. It wasn’t that I didn’t catch fish – I did – but, they were either too small or the wrong kind of fish or both. What a bummer! We came to North Dakota to fish the northern portion of Lake Oahe. We had only fished the South Dakota part of the lake in the past, so this was new territory for us and we didn't know where to find the fish - especially since Rog's new fish-finder quit working (lucky, it's under warranty), so he had to put his old basic model back in the boat. Coupled with a few problems with both our big motor and our trolling motor (thank goodness Rog can fix things mechanical), I was beginning to think we might be cursed, but I was wrong.
