/// /// Larimore Dam Rec. Area Larimore, ND Sunday – July 1, 2012 We departed Jamestown, ND by 9:45 AM, and traveled approximately 30 miles east on I-90 before turning off onto Hwy 1 North. Once again we traveled through some very scenic rural farming country. The road conditions were very good with the exception of a 10 mile stretch of Hwy 15 that was in need of repairs. Traffic was not an issue. We made good time, traveling 127 miles in 2.5 hrs. We arrived at the Larimore Dam Rec. Area just after noon. Check-in was a little confusing. I...

From Larimore Dam Recreation Area Campground, approx 25 miles west of the ND / MN border. We had tagged this location for a one-week stop, but as the past week progressed, we decided not to stop at another location that we had tagged & therefore got ahead of ourselves. Hence, we came on into this campground a few days early, planning to extend our stay here to ten days. We continued to see lots of flood waters as we came eastward from Minot, not so much so for the oil wells & related activity. The heavy rain that we got our first night...

We're Wingin' It

Aug 3, 2006 - US Route 2 - North Dakota

Thursday, August 3, 2006 We thoroughly enjoyed our day in North Dakota. US 2 took us through rich farmlands, with vast golden wheat fields being harvested by huge combines, and fields of sunflowers, soybeans, corn and other crops we could not identify. The road was generally in good shape. Ponds and lakes were full of breeding ducks and shorebirds. The sides of the road were glittering with hoards of butterflies - unfortunately many ended up on our grill. We stopped in Minot, ND long enough to take a picture of the welcome sign. Grandma...
