Jun 4, 2011 - Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Thursday, June 2, 2011 Started out cloudy, but by the afternoon we had sunshine. Newell & Linda Zeller came by and picked us up and off to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park we went. What an amazing and beautiful place. We enjoyed every turn in the road. The scenery is awesome and we saw wildlife. It was so much fun to see the buffalo just roaming free in the grassland.

Sep 14, 2006 - Theodore D. Roosevelt National Park

Mention 'badlands' and a desolate and dangerous place springs to mind. The badlands in TDR Park while that, is also beautiful with deep rugged canyons, dramatic buttes and steep bluffs etched with bands of blue, red, orange, pink, bluff gray and black. The area is rich with wildlife, Longhorn cattle and bison roam freely as do mustang, deer and other wild life. Golden eagles soar overhead hunting unwary prairie dogs. Wild turkeys sauntered past our campsite feeding on ripening grass seeds.
