Made it to North Carolina today. Thru the Smokie Mountains without a problem. The Smokie Mountains are just beautiful. So many colors massed together from the trees just starting to come to life again. Rivers flowing fast and furious below the road, with a few rapids here and there. Quite the contrast to the desert plains i went thru no too long ago. I passed a store that advertised "rapids trips". Lots of small towns here in NC, all nestled into the hills and trees. Feb 2, 2008 - Near Moorseville
What a beautiful day it was today. For all my NASCAR friends, you know where I am. The Moorseville area is home to many of the NASCAR race teams. We are settled here for a couple of days. Tomorrow is the super bowl, and I like to sit back and enjoy that. Check out the picture of our camper. Glenna managed to find me this site. Notice the huge tree surrounding my satellite dish. Tomorrow I hope to check out some of the race shops and museums. Apparently there is a nice mall at Monroe, so I think we'll probably spend some time there tomorrow...

Jun 15, 2007 - Slippin' into Statesville, North Carolina
Today we travel to Statesville, North Carolina which is just north of Charlotte. Beth's Aunt Betty lives here and we are looking forward to visiting with her as well as her family. More details and photos to follow. So, we arrived at the RV park which was nice with a big pool and looked very comfortable. We got a pull thru site and pulled in and set up, and then Beth noticed that a very strong odor of diesel fuel was right under the RV outside the door we walk in and out of. Okay, how in the world did a pool of diesel fuel spill there?...
