Aug 6, 2012 - Rain, Rain, Go Away!!
Yesterday (Sunday - 8/5) we took a trip to Camping World outside of Savannah, GA. Our trip was for purposes of getting a new air brake cable for the towing system ... only to find the Service/Parts Dept. closed ... but a helpful salesperson showed us how to put the old cable back together, so hopefully all will be ok!?! We were in and out of showers during the trip, so decided to NOT go visit Wormsloe Historic Site. Instead, Linda took another wander around the remains of "The Rattlesnake" (in the rain), a ship that was sunk off the shores...

Nov 27, 2010 - Rocky Mount, NC
November 27, 2010 - A slow drive to Rocky Mount, NC through the great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. After leaving the reservation, we chose to travel a non-Interstate Highway which added to the slow traveling but provided much less traffic. The Smokies provided many picturesque views. The only wildlife we saw on this leg was many dead Deer and one dead Fox. We did capture on film a three-headed dog in a pickup truck. The last three pictures were my pictures and after this leg I was...

Mar 11, 2010 - Outer Banks to Rocky Mount
This morning we rose to a cloudy but comfortable day. After breakfast the first order of business, per Blayde’s demanding little stomp, was a walk on the beach. It was fun to walk on this secluded beach once again (seeing what new goodies the high tide from last night had left behind) with Blayde. While walking our little Blayde made a discovery of an empty Welk egg case (commonly called a Mermaid’s Necklace). He was bound and determined to keep it. I had to pry it out of his mouth and then return it to the beach. At the time I didn’t know...

Jul 11, 2009 - seeing the kids!
Pam wrote: On the road by 7:00 to make up for lost time. Drove for 8 ½ hours. There was lots of construction in Georgia, but that wasn’t half as bad as the roads in South Carolina. They were so torn up it was like a patchwork quilt! No construction going on here, but maybe there should have been! We pulled up at Victoria & Ron’s house in Rocky Mount, NC at 3:30 PM and the kids rushed out to greet us! Only a quick hug though . . . they seemed more excited to see Saint than us! Russell’s parents and sister, Katherine, joined us for a North...

Jun 22, 2009 - OTRA - NC - Wilson
b>6/22/09 Didn't get any fishing in last night; our worms were "flat". Oh well. Up and packed this morning and left the campground at 11:40. 11:45 a.m. - WELCOME TO NORTH CAROLINA Well, I-95 sure is much nicer in North Carolina than it is in South Carolina. When we stopped today, not a single thing in the house had moved! That’s the sign of an easy drive. Another neat thing about NC – You’ll be driving along and all of a sudden you’ll come across a huge patch of yellow or orange or white lilies and other flowers planted along the on/off...

Nov 14, 2007 - Heading to Florida
Wednesday, Nov 14, '07 We were in our usual "All ahead slow" mode this morning and did not get away until 11 AM Drew searched the attic again unsuccessfully for all my Snow Babies. I can only hope that Matt eventually finds them. Between all the things we are taking to Heather in FL and to Tina in AZ and all the stuff we still have to sort through and find a place for, our RV is loaded. So Drew packed up a couple of large boxes, wrapped them in a tarp and lashed them to the top of the tool box in the truck. Between Fredricksburg and...

Sep 18, 2007 - Leaving Rocky Mount
We left Rocky Mount at 8:30 am and arrived at Cunningham RV Park in Spartanburg, SC at 3 pm. By 4 pm we were at the Marriott at Rennisance Park in downtown Spartanburg. We had some difficulties locating our shipment of "Pursuit of God" give-a-way books that had been shipped directly by the printer.

May 25, 2007 - Rocky Mount, North Carolina
After an overnight stay in Lumberton, NC we spent Memorial Day weekend at the Rocky Mount, Enfield, NC KOA campground. We mostly relaxed while here, but did take a trip over to the town of Tarboro. Tarboro is noted as the friendly town with lots of front porches for sitting and rocking. The picture is the prettiest one in town. We also got our first critter photo. If you look real close at the center of the picture, you will see a small wild rabbit

May 16, 2005 - Heading inland
I leave early this morning after a particularly bad night, that means with very little sleep, drive north through more of the Outer Bank. I flash back on Key West. Here, I don't see the water as much and when I do it is gray, as is the sky. I stop at another light house and continue on to Kitty Hawk. In the room where the models of the plane that flew and the glider the year before, a man tells the history of the Wright Brothers—the bicycle shop in Dayton, they research, the study (they are without high school diplomas), the work, the trips...
