This morning I set off for the Smoky Mountains to visit friends, Grant and Pam Mastin, in Deep Gap. I made good time until I got onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then I had to stop at every scenic overlook. At the first stop I met Peggy and Steve from High Point. They had taken the day off to celebrate Steve's birthday. We had a nice little visit and they even gave me one of Steve's birthday cupcakes. This evening I met the Mastins at the Smoky Mountain Barbecue Restaurant in West Jefferson.
