We are now in Four Oaks, NC 670 miles into our trip at a Passport America RV Park full hookups and cable TV. Barb is happy she can watch TV now that we are out of the woods of PA. We have planned to drive down to the beaches of NC but Barb says there is a storm moving up the coast with high winds and rain so we are going to hang here for a couple of days and see what happens. Tonight we are going into Goldsboro for BBQ. at Wilbers They smoke the whole hog throw it on a plate and serve it to you and Tomorrow we are going to drive back up...

May 15, 2011 - Travelin' Tarheels Rally
On Sunday morning, our hosts provided a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. Afterwards, our guest speaker, Paul, led our devotion with remarks about the "windows" in our life, our spiritual windows, and how we should keep them clean. We sang two hymns during the service, then adjourned. Everyone packed up their coaches and headed home or to their next destination. May 14, 2011 - Travelin' Tarheels Rally
On Saturday, most of the Travein' Tarheels went out exploring the area and shopping. We did the same. We toured around nearby small towns and then shopped awhile at the Carolina Outlet Mall in Smithfield. Back to the coach for lunch and rest awhile. Another rain storm came through with stronger winds than yesterday. John helped a neighbor tackle his wayward awning and get it safely secured. About 5:15 pm, we Travelin' Tarheels caravaned to the Robbins Nest Restaurant for a wonderful buffet dinner. Afterwards, we returned to the campground....

May 13, 2011 - Travelin' Tarheels Rally, Smithfield
The Travelin' Tarheels Chapter of the FMCA met at the Smithfield KOA in Four Oaks, NC, for the second rally of 2011. Member coaches arrived on Thursday and Friday, May 12 and 13. A total of 12 coaches were there. Eleven of the coaches belonged to members and one visiting couple in their coach. We began our trip to Four Oaks on Friday morning.
