A much nicer start to the day, sunshine but it could get hot today. After a good breakfast and taking care of the dogs, we walked up a couple blocks and caught the metro to Liberty State park where we were supposed to catch a bus down to the park and the ferry landing- At least that’s what the gal in the RV office said. Year 5-Here we go

Jun 16, 2010 - Statue of Liberty, NY

We boarded the ferry from the New Jersey Liberty State Park and not the New York Battery Park. I didn't want to drive into New York City. We may tour New York City some other time. The ferry ride is a short trip to Ellis Island. You get off and tour the Immigration Center and when you are done you board another ferry to Liberty Island and then back to Liberty Park. Sep 12, 2008 - The Statue of Liberty

Thursday was our day to tour the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Our internet research of these National Park Units really paid off in terms of being able to plan our day. We were able to purchase tickets online saving us from having to stand in the very long line at the ticket office. The earliest ticket for both islands on that day was 10:30 AM.
