Yes ... we are alive and well:-) The past 11 days (since our last entry) have been packed full!! Thursday thru Monday (10/4-8) we visited a number of friends in the Utica area (many who fed us VERY well!!); Penny visited past colleagues at BAE Systems in Rome, NY; Linda visited past colleagues at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY; we both got GREAT hair cuts at the beautician who did our hair when we used to live in the area; we made a "donation" to the Oneida Indians at Turning Stone Casino; we went to the Camp Glengarra staff...

Sep 26, 2011 - Double Wedding on Lake Gerry!

Very good friends of mine decided to get married after 45 years together! Their close friends from Florida (and friends of mine) came up for a tournament in Rochester and had been thinking about getting married in New York. So, Marilyn did a lot to orchestrate having a double wedding at their home! Very few people knew Cindy & Nancy, but by the end of the day, everyone got to know everyone else. Aug 20, 2011 - friends on the west side of the Catskills

On Thursday, I trekked on over the Catskills to see some dear friends. I stopped at a few places on the way to find some letterboxes and that was fun. I visited with Melrose Kelly, my employer last summer, for about an hour before settling down at Chic & Marilyn's house. There I ate some really good corn on the cob and shared a few laughs. This was the weekend called "Lake Gerry Days" where the neighbors around the lake gather and have fun together. May 30, 2010 - Memorial Day picnic

I spent a glorious day with friends (some new ones too) at the home of Chic and Marilyn on Gerry Lake. I forgot to bring my camera! But Linda saved the day and took pictures and then sent them to me! As you can see, we enjoyed the lake, played ladderball, had a wine-tasting event, and ate lots of food! Only wish I had a picture of Linda to show here!

Summer in New York

Aug 28, 2008 - visiting friends in Oxford, NY

On Tuesday, the 26th, I got word that my insurance company (GMAC) will cover the estimate ($1322) for repairing the front body mounts of my motorhome, less my $500 deductible. SO, the repair shop started working on it after their lunch break and I packed and went to Chic and Marilyn's house in Oxford - south of Oneonta. While visiting, we rowed on their little lake (there are about a dozen homes around this lake with exclusive rights to it) soaking up the afternoon sun.
