Thanks to the hurricane down in Florida, we have a high pressure system with warm air hanging around the North Country. That meant that today was just beautiful with sunny skies and temperatures in the high 40's. I took advantage of this weather and having Veterans Day off to take a hike. I took a 5 mile hike on the Vista Trail just east of Old Forge, NY. It follows the ridge line parallel to Fourth Fulton Lake. Oct 1, 2009 - From Watkins Glen to the Adirondacks

The last two days we’ve spent in Watkins Glen, NY in the southern tip of Seneca Lake—one of the “finger lakes”. Beautiful waterfalls and scenic lake view from town. The Glen Watkins state campground was right next to the waterfalls. The campsites were like a forest surrounded by tall pines, with plenty of room for the both of us to romp and play. Watkins Glen is well-known in the grand prix circuit, and was home for the Grand Prix in the l940’s through 60’s. Jul 16, 2009 - travel day through the Adirondack Mtns in NY

July 16, 2009 beginning 141558 ending 141753 traveled 195 miles Today we drove over to Burlington, VT about 35 miles to catch the ferry over to New York as we wanted to see the Adirondack Mountains, the ferry ride was only an hour long and we got off it about 1:00 and decided that was to early to stop and we figured we would find a campground somewhere in more in the middle of the park, but we figured wrong we stopped by two and one couldn’t fit us and the other had to shower house and Buddy is re caulking the shower so we can’t use ours so...
