5 states in one day - NH, VT, Mass, CT, and NY. A stop in Newfane, VT, noted as one of the most picturesque villages in New England yielded some fun pictures of beautiful old buildings with fall colors. A drive through the Berkshires and on into New York. Today was a challenge to find camping - our original destination had closed for the season and our second attempt put us on the narrowest highways with the fastest NY drivers (about 70 miles north of NYC) in a thunder, lightning and rainstorm - after we got on the road we realized that...

Oct 4, 2008 - Florida Vacation / Visit

9/30/08 Tuesday OK...we're finally off for our vacation to Florida. Made 255 miles to Fishkill, New York before settling in at the local Walmart for the night. Trip was a little nerve wracking due to the sudden appearance of a brake warning light that I'd never seen before. Brakes seemed to be working OK so we plodded on....then after having supper at Cracker Barrel, the trailer wheels made bad noises while going the half mile to Walmart. Settled for a questionable night's sleep with my head trying to figure what to do. 10/1/08...
