Aug 24, 2007 - Sleepy Hollow, Buffalo, NY

Hi Everybody, Boy have we been having a good time. We stayed one or two nights in a whole bunch of little places coming back down from Canada, heading for Buffalo NY. Our precious friends, Mom and Bob, that lived across the street when we still had a house, also had another brother named Fred and he's agreed to be our personal tour guide for Buffalo, this is great, and they're free, I just have to give a good hug and sweet smile. As soon as we got to the campground Fred and Dawn invited us over for a fish fry and it was delicious...

Aug 24, 2007 47447 8:05 As we leave the yacht club we are traveling east but after our first turn we are headed south, away from the U.S. Windsor, Canada is the only Canadian city that is north of the U.S. border. I know it sounds strange but check your maps. (Good trivia question, Kim) We have been in construction since right after we left the yacht club. Then after we turned onto the QEW there were two accidents in the opposite lanes but all the rubber-neckers in our lanes tied up traffic plus there was construction. Finally there is...

Jul 8, 2007 - Buffalo,makes you lick your fingers

Hi-today finds us catching up again. We left Barcelona for Angola and the weather was just awesome. We still are riding along the lake which keeps it fairly comfortable for us. Keeps humidity way down for us. Not too many pictures that day. We were at about mile 35 when we spotted a beauty shop. Seeing as how Greg hadn't had hair cut since Daniel did it, we figured only one car in lot and so in we go. She was finishing rolling a perm, and got him finished right quick with a #3[Tanya and Daniel]. Chris [hairdresser] and Greg yelled, "Come on...

May 3, 2007 - Toronto-Niagara Falls

Tour of Toronto before we head to Niagara Falls. Visited the Parliament House - why are the government buildings always the most opulent. Stopped at Niagara Lakes - lovely town - tulips and daffodils galore. Very pretty. Then we hit Niagara Falls. We had lunch at the Skylon Tower, revolving restaurant. The view of the falls was awesome. We then went Behind Niagara Falls (The Horseshoe) as the Maid of the mist wasn't running. As there is still ice and snow from recent storms, they don't run the Maid until the Ice is all gone - safety hazard!...

Sep 10, 2006 - 9-10-06

9-10-06 Greetings from Akron, New York located just east of Buffalo. Sandy and I feel strange arriving in New York the day before September 11th. Even when you feel life spinning by at light speed, an anniversary of this magnitude slows things down and makes you appreciate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As we continue this adventure these words gain more meaning every day. May you take time to hug the people you love and thank God for this Country and our freedoms. I know we do. Today is truly another example of our adventure....

Aug 15, 2006 - Niagra Falls

After touring Chicago it was of to one of the natural wonders of the World! Niagra falls is spectacullar but who new the surrounding area was so much like a theme park? We just stopped in to see The Falls on our way to Toronto. So after a night in a Wal-Mart parking lot (hey stop laughing its FREE!) we drove the rig down the main street in Niagra. I never new how much my truck driving experience at Pepsi was going to benefit me in my everyday life but when i was jacknifing the 5th wheel into a pay parking lot I was reminded of dilivering to...

Aug 15, 2006 - Niagara Falls

No, we haven't fallen off the edge of the earth, just relaxing upstate. After we left Mackinac Island we were going to stay near Fort Huron, MI. but when we got there it was still quite early so we decide to head to Niagara Falls going through Canada. Canada was very windy with many farmlands. It looks very similiar to Michigan except the mileage signs are in kilometers. Most of the signs are in English with an occasional one having French on it too. We arrived in Niagara,NY., traveling over 500 miles that day and found a Wal Mart to stay...

Jul 23, 2006 - Niagara Falls, New York State

When we arrived at Buffalo Depew Station .... it was in the middle of no where and there was absolutely nothing around the station and not what we expected. With our train being late we had missed the bus taking us to Downtown Buffalo and there were no taxis. The next bus and/or train taking us to Downtown Buffalo was at around 2pm (our time of arrival was 8am). You could phone for a taxi - which we did. Needless to say so did many others so when a taxi did arrive there was a scrum for it!! We eventually shared a taxi with two Canadian...

Jul 5, 2006 - Niagara Lazy Lakes Resort Lockport NY.

We are in Niagara Falls staying at Niagara Lazy Lakes Resort. The campground is fabulous, there is plenty of space between each site and the trees in the campground look to be 100 feet tall. They have the swimming pool and other facilities that most campgrounds have, but the one thing that stands out for me was the two lakes, one for fishing and the other for swimming with a sandy beach. There were rental cabins on the back side of the lakes and some campsites on the other, a large log recreation hall with a very large deck at one end of...

Jun 27, 2006 - Buffalo, NY

Our trip from Toledo to the Buffalo, NY, area was punctuated with a couple of shopping stops. Consequently, the 5 hour drive took considerably longer, but we arrived, set up camp at the KOA on Grand Island, had dinner, and then set out for Niagra Falls. Marty and I had seen the falls during the day. Now we have seen them at night. 10:00 p.m. turned out to be both a beautiful and practical time to go. Practical in that there were people, but not crowds of them, and because we weren't charged the normal $10 for parking. Beautiful is...

Apr 13, 2006 - Niagara Falls - Canada

Dom: The Greyhound bus dropped us in Niagara Falls, just inside Canada. The Canadians got the best of the deal here. There are two sets of falls here, the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls, both were huge though the Horseshoe Falls were more impressive as we were able to get right up beside them. It was as if i was in that scene from Superman where Christopher Reeves has just bought those two hotdogs but has to save the stupid kid with uninterested parents. I expected the town of Niagara Falls to be a discreet affair. God knows why i...
