We have been dealing with blowing winds ever since we entered eastern Arizona. It seems the further east we travel the worse the winds get. Quite frankly the winds have put a bit of a damper on some of our sightseeing travels as they make being outside a bit unpleasant. On Wednesday morning at 0400 the winds were blowing so fiercely that I actually got out of bed and pulled in all the slides on the coach ( those of you who know me will understand how serious this was!! ) For the next two days we didn't leave the coach or slide the slides...

Apr 30, 2005 - Two Hundred Miles of Musings on a Desolate Stretch

Here I will copy directly the little snippets I wrote in my notebook as we drove from Elkhart, KS though Oklahoma to Springer, NM: Whoa, south of Boise City, OK US 56 has not yet been "improved!" "Adventure" would be the word to describe this road even though it's paved! It's a narrow two-lane road with no shoulders. In some places it is being repaved but still no shoulders. Oh, finally.
