Day 28 Orilla Verde Recreational Area (BLM), Pilar, NM We started our day at Michael’s Restaurant near the Taos Plaza. It is a very nice and busy restaurant….nothing fancy but good food and coffee. Our next stop was the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge to the northwest of Taos. This site is like riding a scary ride to me. I am very afraid of heights. When we first arrived, there were a number of Native American sellers at the parking area for the bridge. The things they had were beautiful. Jul 7, 2010 - Enchanted Circle

Day 27 Orilla Verde Recreation Area, Pilar, NM We took another driving tour today. We went along the area known as the Enchanted Circle. We started at Taos and headed east and then north. The views were spectacular. The route then turns to the east and we could tell we were getting higher & higher. We went through one area that was marked at 9100 feet. Jul 6, 2010 - Pilar, NM

Day 26 Orilla Verde Recreation Area, Pilar, NM We were on our way this morning around 9:30 AM. We know it won’t be that long a drive to the Taos area. We are staying at a Bureau of Land Manage (BLM) campground in Pilar, NM. I just love traveling through such interesting landscapes. The Western states are so different to me since I was raised in the Midwest. I just ooohed and aaahed at every turn.
