Jun 1, 2008 - It's Cool in the Mountains of New Mexico

We have spent the past three nights at the Deer Spring RV Resort in Mayhill, NM. It is a tiny town between Cloudcroft and Ruidoso. There are deer and wild turkeys everywhere. Originally we planned on bring the grand kids, Aaron and Beka with us but they were not feeling too good. Steve went fishing in a pond on his sister's property close by and caught two trout -- 14" and 12" -- what a great supper!

Jul 22, 2003 - Cen-Tex LoW Trip - Day 3 – Travel from Pecos to Mayhill, New Mexico

Today we reached our destination. Aaah! Cooler temperatures at last. We camped in the Oak Grove RV Park at Mayhill, New Mexico. The RV park is near Cloudcroft, a popular tourist destination. The RV park is built on the side of a mountain on three levels. Sam Barlow was already there in a site on the lowest level; in fact, he had been there several days already. The rest of us were on the top level, where it was very tricky to get our rigs leveled – even my little 21-foot Chinook! Mayhill is in Otero County, in the Alamogordo metro area....
