Tuesday, October 10, we left the RV at the Cottonwood RV Park. Check out time was 12 Noon. We drove the jeep to Bandelier National Monument. It was about a 45-minute drive through some beautiful scenery of desert type areas changing to mountain terrain. Carol was not fond of the twisting, turning and narrow mountain road portion. The $12 admission was waived because of our newly acquired Golden Age Passport. It gives us free admissions to National Parks and 50% off tours or camping at National Parks. May 25, 2005 - Walsenberg, CO./ Santa Fe Trail

Left Farmington this morning (somewhat reluctantly, but need to get back on the road). We stopped at the Veterans Memorial on the Animas River, but it was flooded and the trail was blocked for safety reasons. I believe it was supposed to crest yesterday, but it looked even higher this morning. Walter run into another guy at the Riverwalk, checking things out, and it turned out to be someone we both went to school with named Damon Weems. Snow Gypsies

May 9, 2005 - The Week at the Ranch

We pulled into the ranch early Saturday evening, selected a campsite and settled in. We put up the shelter on Sunday morning and hung the walls. We tried several different configurations for the walls and finally settled on one that we felt would work the best out here. It was so cold, windy and rainy for the first few days that Chuck stayed in the camper most of the time. We got a golf cart for transportation on the ranch.
