After leaving Canyon and traveling north through Amarillo and Dumas, then west into New Mexico, we arrived at our next stop in the tiny village of Capulin, New Mexico. This is another place we had passed on many trips but never had time to investigate, so this year it was one of our specific destinations. Our RV park is small but very near Capulin National Monument so it is perfect for our needs. May 2, 2008 - We made it to our destination

After our roadside repair we continued our drive across New Mexico ending in Capulin, New Mexico. Capulin is a small town - in fact the owner of the campground we stayed out told us her family made up 9 of the 49 residents! The reason the campground and town are here is the Capulin Volcano National Monument. The volcano erupted into existence sometime between 56,000 and 62,000 years ago.
