Jun 14, 2012 - Preparations for trip

Before starting my trip to Italy and Spain I visited my two sons for fun and to be sure they had necessary family and financial information. Enjoyed visiting Jason in Clearwater, Florida and going on a dinner cruise where he works in Tampa Bay. Then visited the oldest son, Drew and his family in New Jersey. It was my first time to visit the youngest Ryan who is just one year old. I had to make an unexpected trip back to St. Croix to rescue my cat. He kept running away, back to his old home that was currently unoccupied. So I flew him to...

Feb 14, 2011 - Hearts and Bones

You take two bodies and you twirl them into one Their hearts and their bones And they won't come undone -Paul Simon Ok it's the final page! Woot! It's been probably 15 years since I wrote anything more than 10 pages long and it's been a rather cathartic experience, this blog writing. Dec 2, 2010 - Stuck In The Middle With You

Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am.... -Stealers Wheels We quietly celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary this past September. All summer, we would toss around ideas for doing something really memorable for this hard earned occasion. In honesty, we're both rather proud of our relationship. Quitting is not an option for us. In a strange way, we revel in life's difficulty just a tiny bit. Hell if life was easy and exciting at every turn, you just know most people would stay married longer. Bottom line? Look at us, warts...

Sep 24, 2008 - Day 32

We crossed the Delaware River into the state of Delaware from New Jersey about 7 p.m. We are now resting at a WalMart Super Center in Dover for the evening before going to the capitol of Delaware in the morning. A real Nor'easter is suppose to be coming in tonight bringing with it up to 2 inches in rain with possible flooding in the coastal areas. The locals are stocking up. We wanted to make the proclamation at both the Delaware and Maryland capitols and then drive on towards Richmond Virginia tomorrow, with this weather front moving in...

Aug 4, 2008 - Valley Forge/Trenton/Princeton

Our final day in the Philly/NJ area. We started the day with a tour of Valley Forge, the location of the winter encampment of the Continental Army in 1777. Although we paid $15 each for a trolley tour of the park, the tour provided two stops which were then conducted by the National Park Service rangers. We did learn a bit of history while on the trolley tour, but not enough to justify the asking price (I am becoming quite disillusioned with trolley tours lately). Prior to settling in Valley Forge for the winter the Continental Army had...
