There were a few glitches in the GPS routing through Rhode Island and Connecticut and we got held up for more than half an hour in a traffic jam caused by an accident on I-84 just a few miles from our destination. As a result, it was dark (and rainy) by the time we got to the campground so we didn’t bother to disconnect or level the 5th wheel. On the plus side, we saw some very colorful scenery along the way. Sep 24, 2013 - Sussex, NJ

Sussex, New Jersey, is an overnight stop for us. This area is rugged country with steep hills divided by large, deep ravines, and is still a wilderness despite it's proximity to some large population centers. The highest point in New Jersey at 1,803 feet is here within High Point State Park, and is marked by an obelisk dedicated to the memory of war dead.

We were escorted to the RV site about five miles from refuge headquarters and were thrilled to see our new home in the woods. We will be here until the middle or end of September. We got the coach hooked up to shore power with 50 amp electric, water and sewer. We have excellent internet and cell phone...

Oct 16, 2008 - Pleasant Acres Campground, Sussex, NJ

Today was another driving day. We ended up in New Jersey at the Pleasant Acres Campground in Sussex. You have to want to be coming to this campground since it is off the beaten path but it is certainly worth it. This campground has an absolutely wonderful view. We again wanted to stay a few extra days. The last two campgrounds have been the nicest we've stayed at for quite awhile. We took a long walk around the campground and just relaxed for the evening.
