Today, we left our Airbnb hosts Norman and McCordia and their adorable and well-behaved Jack Russell, Isis, and headed for the road. Our destination was Port Junction New Jersey, the home of my friend Nicole. Once upon a time, Nicole was a dynamic journalist, age 25, who had made her way West after NYU to take a job as an intern at the SF Bay Guardian. Today was slightly boring: we drove most of the time! We left D.C. relatively early, and drove… and drove… and drove… Through Baltimore , Trenton and Philadelphia until we reached a friend of Aunt Jill’s in New Jersey. Her name was Nicole, and she had 2 kids: Claire was 7, and Duffy was about 4. Sam and I had a lightsaber duel with Duffy; I was ganged up on, and lost, after also being mauled by a stuffed fake horse. But it was all good. We ate dinner there. Jun 22, 2012 - Sam's Entry: Visit friends in Jersey

Today we left Washington DC early and headed out for Princeton Junction, New Jersey. On the way we passed through Baltimore, Trenton, and Philadelphia. Sadly, We missed the opportunity to have a phillie cheese steak sandwich in Phillie. We stayed the night at Auntie Jill’s friend Nicole’s house.
