Laundry Day...Found a laundromat less than 2 miles outside the gate....Kay's Laundromat...The owner is a very sweet Korean lady...Gene calls her my new Korean friend. For the 1st time, it was such a nice experience to do laundry. She welcomed us as soon as we stepped into the place. Asked us where we were from? if we were living in the area? May 28, 2010 - Ft Dix, NJ

Today is moving day....Destination Fort Dix, New Jersey. From here, it is about 50 miles to Philadelphia and 75 miles to Atlantic City. It was an easy 1 hour drive through the country roads. There are only 8 sites here with Water & Electric only. We have a small open field across us and a view of Willow Pond. There is also a picnic and playground area as we come in. We will be here for the next 2 weeks @$100/wk. We plan to see more of Philadelphia during the week and the Atlantic coast line. This is Memorial Day weekend and we don't plan to...

May 21, 2010 - Sandy Hook / Fort Hancock, NJ

Today we went out to Sandy Hook and Fort Hancock on a peninsula in New Jersey at the entrance to the Hudson River. Sandy Hook is part of the Gateway National Park. Fort Hancock was built to defend New York City from attack from enemy ships entering the harbor. Today we got our first look at the poison ivy plants near the beach. We don't even think about poisonous plants on Kauai and we just walk in the bushes. Here you never know whats in a bush.
