Apr 4, 2009 - Tall Pines Clean up

Tall Pines Campground offered free danish, bagels, tea and coffee before the cleanup started. We did our campground clean up raking half of Grasshopper Lane. Most of the folks in the group decided to go out to dinner. We chose the Alloway Village Inn which is a combination bar, liquor store, and restaurant in Salem County. It was different... Some of the food was good, some not so good but at least it was inexpensive. Dinner for Alan and I was around $15 and change. We drove 80 miles this weekend.

Apr 3, 2009 - Day 1 - Elmer, NJ

Southern Trip April 3, 2009 - Friday Start odometer: 52,2003 Today we left at 9:15 a.m. to begin our trip south. Our first stop was a two night stay at Tall Pines Campground in Elmer, NJ, with the Happy Nomads. It’s clean-up weekend at Tall Pines and, in exchange for raking leaves, we get a free night’s camping. The cost for two nights with full hook-ups was $35. Jul 17, 2008 - Places you never knew you'd be.. New Jersey

Holy Canoli!!!We left D.C. in the heat and headed out over the Chesapeake Bay through Annapolis. We wound our way up taking in another state! We ended up finding a campground in a little rural area of New Jersey that would allow us to be between the coast and Philadelphia. We stayed at a Yogi Bear campground that is located in an area of country roads, corn fields and beautiful little farms. We checked in and took off right away for the Atlantic.
