Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay L.I. - the home of Theodore Roosevelt and the first summer White House - is a fantastic place to visit. The tour of the house, the museum, the grounds - all of it wonderfully interesting. Our tour guide was terrific and I learned so much about TR - even some trivia- for eample: he drank a gallon of coffee a day! So very glad I came. Great way to spend a morning. Sep 18, 2011 - To Find Friends and The Merwin's B & B

Yesterday was busy day--we got a little lost driving back to the RV Park but finally arrived around 4PM. Today we planned to find our New Jersey friends and visit. The first stop was to Susan's Dads cousin--Flora May. Flora is 93 and living in a nursing home. We had the address plugged into the GPS so off we went. As we drove down the very busy highway to the address, we did not see any nursing home! So we stopped in a Home Depot parking lot and asked for help--no really knew where it was. Aug 13, 2010 - A Day On The Road

I left Great Barrington this morning but not before eating some of Vito's deliciously thin pancakes for breakfast. Maria and Vito were absolutely super this week and I definitely could "feel the love". An hour down the road, I stopped at the "under renovation" New York State Capitol. It wasn't just the building layout that wasn't very visitor friendly - what's with the attitude of the workers in the building? Gimme a break - I've visited tons of capitols and everyone is usually so proud of their building and go out of their way to share it...
