Jun 8, 2008 - Mesquite, Nevada

Greetings from Nevada, I bet you are wondering how we ended up here? Wellll, when we left the Tetons, headed to Jackson Hole, Wy., it was raining and snowing in some places. The RV park that we intended to stay in, was gone, replaced by some cute log cabins. And it was still raining. Since we had both been to Jackson before, a decision was made to just "skip it". That meant skip the rodeo too. We stopped along the road to discuss this snap decision, try to decide where to go next, and what did we really want to do. Well, I wasn't feeling...

Jul 12, 2007 - Our Fun In The Sun

We arrived here in Mesquite, NV on Sunday the 9th after a great 3 day ride from Billings, MT. The first day was spent riding Bear Tooth Pass and Touring Yellowstone National Park. Then it was on to Hill AFB to spend the night before continuing our trip into Mesquite. Our first day here, Monday, we visited Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. They were sights we did not believe even existed. Tuesday we were off to visit Grand Canyon National Park (North Rim). Not as pretty as the previous day, but it was massive and an awsome sight to...

Mar 29, 2007 - 3-29-07 Mesquite, Nevada

3-29-07 Our trip from Bullhead City to Mesquite proved to be blustery. Strong winds blew across the desert creating havoc for driving a big box down the road. I pulled off the road once to wait out the wind and check for any damage hitting tumble weeds may have caused. We arrived in town safe and sound settling down in the Oasis RV Park which is part of the Oasis Hotel and Casino. Lorren and Deb Patchett called and happened to be in the area, so they stopped by and we enjoyed visiting and catching up with them. The golf courses are booked...

Feb 23, 2006 - Mesquite, NV

We camped in the lot behind the Virgin River Casino for one night on the way through. I wasn't nearly as lucky this time as I was on the way south, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. We had a fabulous meal at the buffet again and went to the restaurant in the morning for their famous $2.49 ham steak and egg breakfast. The steaks were huge - the size of a dinner plate - and the doggy bag will feed us for at least two more meals.

Jan 13, 2006 - We finally arrive in Nevada - no more danger of snow.

Today was pretty uneventful as far as driving and landscapes go. We had just one little almost divorce-causing mishap. We stopped in St. George, UT for fuel. Well...instead of normal interchanges, this town decided to go with roundabouts. Oh what a horror! We managed okay getting off the highway to get fuel, even though Laurie was freaking out and probably cut at least one vehicle off (she was driving). However, getting back on to the interstate was a different story. The ramps were so close together that we missed and took the wrong one....
