May 16, 2016 - Fremont NE - Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area - Lakeview Campground

Came up to Fremont to get our boat. Roger spent a couple of days making sure the motors would run when we got to the big lakes for fishing. Fremont is a good place for that with all its small lakes. It is best to be here during the week, though, because the lakes are plenty busy on weekends. While here, we went to Jack and Theresa’s for a luscious roast beef dinner (Thanks, Theresa!) and a game of Mexican Train (sort of). Retired at Last!

Jul 24, 2014 - Thurs, 7/24, Fremont, Nebraska

Grand Island KOA was pleasant. the women's restroom/showers even had a hair dryer. We are headed to Fremont to see the May Museum. On the way we stopped in Columbus for 'brunch.' May 1, 2013 - Fremont NE - Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area - Lakeview Campground

Arrived in Fremont on Sunday night. Had 2 days of good weather and now we are waiting for the snow to arrive. Today is cold and rainy. The temperature has been steadily falling all day. At least they have backed off on the amount of snow we're supposed to get - down from 10 inches to 1 inch. If we do get snow, it will be a rare occurrence. It hasn't snowed in Omaha in the month of May since the 60's (I'm thinking it was 1967.)Saw Jack, Theresa and Mike on Monday. They are all doing fine and looking good. We'll probably stay here through the...

Retired at Last!

May 20, 2011 - Fremont, NB

Crossed the Mississippi into Iowa, then crossed the Missouri into Nebraska. We were planning on staying at Wilson Island SP, which is on the Missouri river in Iowa, but it was closed due to flooding. So we continued on to Fremont State Rec. Area in Nebraska. It has been raining all day, so I don't really care where we stay. This place is crawling with Nebraska Cornhusker Fans, figure that.
