Today we did some exploring up in the mountains around Butte. We headed a little north to the Humbug Spirals Trail. It was a pretty trail off Moose Creek Road. It's weird around here cause there is so much pasture/grazing land that you travel across private property to get to the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) property. So we drove about 3.5 miles to the trailhead, from there on the road was closed until May 15th and it looked like 4WD road. So we hiked a cple of miles along a beautiful stream. Aug 8, 2005 - Uncharted (for us) Travels in Southwest Montana
Once we'd decided to take a northerly route back to McCall - and go by way of Salmon and Challis, ID, we had a few more decisions to make - because there are several ways of doing that. As usual we "consulted Ms. Garmin" [our shorthand for plugging in the starting and end points of our trip and letting the charming British woman's voice inside our Garmin StreetPilot 2620 GPS give us directions].
