Montana is working hard to make us feel at home. It’s raining. We had a very rainy spring in New Jersey. We are ready for some sunshine. We had planned to explore this area on the motorcycle. Today, we use the RV. We make three stops today at State Parks. Like the postman, rain will not stop us from our appointed rounds. Our first park is the Missouri Headwaters State Park. We purchase an annual non-resident stamp for entry into all Montana Parks. We stop at the confluence of the Jefferson and the Madison Rivers. This is considered the...

Last Night’s DVD Selection: “Singing In The Rain” Yes, it is still raining. Fortunately, it is a short travel day with stops in Bozeman. We get on Interstate 90. In this part of the state, there is not a better choice. It is scenic. We follow the railroad tracks and the Yellowstone River. If only it wasn’t raining. After an hour, we make our first stop in Bozeman at The Museum of the Rockies. It is a good stop for a rainy day. We watch a half hour planetarium show. We see lots of dinosaurs. Jun 23, 2006 - Three Forks, MT

Mile 6027 We have stopped in Three Forks, MT to break the journey and to see a couple of the "don't wanna miss..." sites. Namely the Lewis and Clark Caverns (so named although there is no record that L & C ever saw the caves, but they did come within 50 miles of them. A little shaky, if you ask me) and Virginia City and Nevada City - both "sorta" ghost towns. Also, this is where the joining of the Madison, Jefferson and Gallatin Rivers forms the Missouri River.
