Stopped in Sheridan to visit Jean (Bob's sister) and Rick (aka Summer Ranch Manager). Rich & Jean continue to oversee key projects at Dr. Bob & Sissy's small ranch in Sheridan. In early June, Rich built up the walls of various irrigation ditches to more efficiently handle the spring snow melt, runoff. Plugged some leaks to distribute the precious water to the lower pasture that Bob & Sissy leases out for cattle grazing. Before our arrival, Rich had dug and prepared an earthen foundation to hold a 3000 gallon water tank for fire protection...

Alaskan Trek 2008

Aug 12, 2007 - Sheridan WY 8/12/2007

Today we drove from Helena, MT to Sheridan, WY. The Highlight was a stop at the Wheat Montana Outlet store for a very good breakfast treat. As we got to Sheridan there was a grass fire on the East side of the road that they were trying to put out. Out to the West there was a forest fire in the distance. The TV reports were that around 500 Acres had been burned and they were evacuating people. No threat to us however.

Alaska 2007

Jul 6, 2007 - Sheridan, MT

Kathy & I arrived safely at my nephew's small ranch in Sheridan, MT. The ranch will be Dr Bob & Sissie's dream home in the not-to-distant future. There were a few challenges getting our rig into a parking area in front of the home. GR, my brother-in-law, helped Bob get our rig over a hump and dip in the gravel road. We laid 2 by 8 boards in front of the RV wheels in order to raise the back jacks so they would not drag. Subsequently, Uncle Rich, with some help of Bob, manned the John Deere back-hole and flattened the dip in the road -- many...
