The last time we visited this area, we passed right by Lolo Hot Springs. We both agreed if we ever got close again, we would take the time to visit. We are camping only about 25 miles from it, so today was the chosen day. :-) The only problem was a ton of smoke in the air. They are having a lot of problems in the area with wildfires. Aug 22, 2012 - Traveler's Rest, Lolo Hot Springs
We are back on the Lewis and Clark trail, and today visited Traveler’s Rest, which is a campsite outside of Lolo, Montana, that the Corps used both on the way out and on the way back from the Pacific. The Nez Perce Indians, who were friendly, told the explorers when they camped here that they could get across the mountains and to the meadows of a river that would link to the Columbia, in five days. Jul 24, 2010 - Lolo Hot Springs, Observation run
Up early again. WTF? I thought we were going to sleep in during retirement?? Turkey and I registered for an observation run across the Lolo pass. We had to answer around 20 questions that were posted along the way at historical sites, kind of like a car rally. It took us around 4 hours for 118 mile run. When we got back, we went to Big Sky Brewery again for a few sample beers.
