Jul 9, 2008 - Livingston MT
Well we moved on to Livingston Montana and what a nice place. What a view from the trailer as you can see from the photos. We are going to be here for a week. Livingston is located just outside of Yellowstone Park. We plan on doing day trips without the trailer into Yellowstone. The reason for that is some of the steep grades going south into Yellowstone and with dealing with traffic. The cost of a camp site is also double of what we are paying for this site with full hookups (elec, water, sewer). The Yellowstone River runs along the...

Jul 7, 2008 - Return to Livingston, MT
We departed Gillette on Sunday morning and had a nice liesurely drive to Columbus, MT. Our friends Tom & MaryAnn had told us about a city park in Columbus that was right along the Yellowstone River. That is where we spent one night and the camping was free. Can't beat that. It had lots of trees and was not close to a major road or railroad track. Wonder of wonders. It was quiet and pleasant. On Monday we drove the last short distance to Livingston, MT and settled in at the Rock Canyon RV Park again, also right along the banks of the...

Jun 20, 2008 - Livingston, Montana
We are now in Livingston, MT. at a small family owned Rv Park and loving it. The park is very small but well maintained and the people are real friendly. It is right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Normally one can fish right here, but right now the river is at its highest and roaring along, being very muddy and not good for fishing. In fact, the owner took Dennis over to the edge of the river and pointed out one rock in particular in the water. He said that when the water covered that, he was out of here. Guess we will follow him....

Jun 16, 2008 - On The Road Again
Begin the trip to Yellowstone Park. The weather is great, in the low 70's. Going through Montana was really a feast for the eyes. Everything is green, the rivers are running full and due to the high cost of gas there was not much traffic. Due to a number of stops the trip turned into a 9 hour drive rather than the 7 hours that I had planned, oh well, such is life on the road. The RV park is right on the Yellowstone River and is really a nice park, large sites, a lot of green grass and great views of the snow caped mountains. After setting...

Jun 6, 2008 - Homeward bound
We left yesterday morning right around 9:30 heading for Montana. The sun was shining bright with some clouds over the Canadian Rockies and temps in the 50's. We checked out of Bow RiversEdge Campground, paid our bill with the Canadian money we had left and we were off. It was a good day to travel. We were going home. We drove for what seemed like forever - 230 miles straight through to the U.S. Border. There were several vehicles in line ahead of us so we just waited and within 10 minutes we were there. We thought for sure we'd be slowed...

May 27, 2008 - Livingston, Montana
We arrived in Livingston, Montana on the 25th. We are loving this little town. We went out and looked at Jerry & Kim's and Betty and Gene's property and it's awesome. We took some pictures to show everyone but it was raining and they are not as good as usual. Speaking of pictures, I have a ton to catch up on and add from Yellowstone too. We had a wonderful 10 days in the park. We got snowed in for a few more days than we planned to stay but are happy we did. I have always wanted to be snowed in and I can't think of a more beautiful place...

Sep 8, 2007 - Down the road to Livingston, MT
It looked like rain as we packed up the bus for the next leg of the journey. Once on the highway, it did rain for awhile, and then got sunny again...great fall weather and not too cold at night yet. There are some really interesting geological formations around this area of Montana that make for good pictures. Rocky outcroppings, wind and water erosion and other works of Mom Nature that are pretty awe inspiring. We also saw some pronghorn antelope grazing in the field, but unfortunately didn't get the camera out in time. And that was the...

Sep 1, 2007 - Livingston, Montana
Well, after packing everything but "the kitchen sink", we locked up and headed out on our first day on the road on Friday, August 31, 2007, arriving in Post Falls, Idaho at about 7:00 p.m. We got hooked up and the slides out just in time for a rip-roaring thunder and lightening storm to hit! Lit up the sky! When the winds began to really blow, we decided to bring the slides back in, and uh-O, the front one wouldn't budge! Dick decided he was to tired from driving nine hours to stress over it, and we would just pray for a miracle in the...

Aug 18, 2007 - Glacier National Park, Montana
Smoke from multiple fires in Montana obscured the last location in Canada (Waterton Lakes NP where deer wandered in town and a big black bear hovered not far out of town). Crossed over into the US and headed for Glacier NP and the bottom of Montana for Yellowstone NP.

Jul 21, 2007 - Arrived in Big Sky Country
I guess you are wondering what happened to the travels of the Sibert's. We had to go an entire week without internet since Yellowstone National Park has not joined the modern times and installed wi-fi in the park. So now that we have wi-fi, can check email, pay some bills and most importantly, I have a martini in hand since it is happy hour where we are, (I promise not to spill this one) let me give you the latest adventures. (A lot has happened so I hope I do not bore you with this lengthy update) We arrived Yellowstone last Saturday and...

Jul 11, 2007 - Yellowstone National Park
We arrived in Livingston, Montana on July 11th. Our campground (Yellowstone's Edge) is 18 miles south of Livingston, on Hwy. 89 in the town of Emigrant. We will enter Yellowstone National Park from the north entrance. Yellowstone Nt'l Park has five entrances: Gardiner, Mont. (north); West Yellowstone, Mont. (west); Jackson, via Grand Teton National Park (about 60 miles south); Cody (about 53 miles east); and Cooke City, Mont. (northeast). Yellowstone was established in 1872 as the world's first national park. William Henry Jackson's...
