The trip we have been talking about and planning for the last couple years began today. YIPPEE. Crazy all the things you have to do to get ready to be gone a few weeks. We each had our own little list, and the RV is packed in every little nook and cranny. Then the dang weather. We needed only one more day to get out of Dodge- time ran out. It was 30 degrees when we left. We had snow and cold blowing wind. Roads and wind were bad past Lewistown. We were going to go north to Malta and heard on the radio power was out, and several power lines...

Our trip east.

Sep 8, 2016 - To Culbertson, MT

What was going to be a quick stop to check our trailer tires turned into a very long day when it was discovered that one of our tire hubs was broken. Three and a half hours later, after receiving incredible service, we were back on the road. Our original plan was no longer an option so we spent the night in Culbertson before moving on.

Going Down MC's-LANE

Jun 7, 2014 - Culbertson, MT

What a day! We drove all day, crossing North Dakota and into Montana. The country was slightly hilly, flat as a pancake, hilly again, and then hills with mixed farms and oil wells. There was a lot of construction, with most of it having to do with the oil business of getting oil from shale. There were lots of towns built where the workers could stay. Some of them were little one bedroom pre-fabs, others were two bedroom pre-fabs, but all looked like modular living quarters. And of course they had lots of campgrounds specially built for...

Alaska Trip

Aug 19, 2010 - Drive Day Southbound to Michigan

Left Shelby, MT at 11:30am after doing some phone work with the SEC to figure out what is going on with my retirement finalization. After finishing that we left and began our drive southbound. We drove until around 9:30pm staying the night at a Municipal Park just off US Rt. 2 in eastern Montana about 20 miles from the North Dakota line. It was a Long Long Day.
