Aug 13, 2010 - Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area
After the tour, we head down to Bighorn Canyon. This is a nationally protected area which contains much wildlife and a dam. The Yellowtail Dam creates one of the largest reservoirs on the Missouri River tributary system. This arch type dam is 525 feet high. We drive down to the marina and have lunch. We see a big Class A dry camping. The natural beauty is breathtaking as we drive the hills and canyons. We see wild beautiful horses grazing in the fields. Don gets his NP passbook stamped in the visitor center.
