Oct 22, 2011 - On The Road Again!!
Hard to believe, but tomorrow we are headed to Texas for our 4th winter. It seems the time home since our trip out west has gone so quickly. We traveled to Hutchinson, KS with our RVing group for the 6-State RV Rally the end of September. It was our first rally and it was awesome! Seems we tried to rub the numbers off our credit cards, but what a great bunch of people to spend 11 days with. Didn't know what a neat city Hutchinson, KS was. Toured the Cosmosphere and Underground Salt Mine Museum. Pretty awesome. Also I've started seeking out...

Aug 9, 2011 - Catch Up On The Summer 2011
Hope this finds all our family and friends enjoying their summer. Hope you’re keeping cool. It’s been HOT! HOT! HOT! in Missouri. We got ourselves settled back into the routine being back in Missouri. Seemed at the beginning summer I was really missing all the “action” that goes on in Texas. Once getting involved with the FMCA group I mentioned in an earlier posting, it seemed to make the summer go faster. We’ve gone to Osage Beach, Bowling Green, KY and in July we did a week in Branson. Several of us brought grand kids. We had a blast...

May 29, 2011 - 40 Years Of Wedded Bliss
This was a very special weekend for us. On May 29, 1971, Jim and I said, “I do”. Forty years seems so long, but seems it’s gone fast. We had a wonderful weekend with our family. Our week started out with on Tuesday night we went out to dinner with Jennifer and then on the to Fox Theatre to see the show “The Jersey Boys”. It’s the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It was an AWESOME show. The music was unbelievable. Jennifer had gotten us our tickets and had seats just 6 rows from the stage. What a great night. Saturday, Jennifer...

Got word this week from the RV park in Texas to say that they need a pair of work campers for November and December. So we jumped on it. We'll be leaving the last of October. Plan on flying home around November 19 for about 10 days to do Thanksgiving/Christmas with our kids. We don't know if we have a job for Jan, Feb or March. But we'll be there, if they need us great if not we'll pay rent. Hope everyone is getting to enjoy weather like we are having here in MO. BEAUTIFUL!! Have a great weekend. I'll keep you posted on our travels when we...

Sep 13, 2010 - HOME SWEET HOME
Written from HOME! Made it home around 5:30 Saturday evening. We drove straight from West Bend. All interstate, but a lot longer than Jim likes to drive in one day. But didn't want to stop just a couple hours from home. Back to the grind here. Trying to get back to my sewing to get Christmas rounded up. Jim's still helping the neighbor with the ghetto house. Think there's a light at the end of that tunnel. We'll keep you posted on our next trip, probably to South Texas. Thanks for following along with us. It was a great trip. Take care...

Aug 15, 2010 - CATCHING UP
Well, where is this summer going? It's the middle of August! We survived our 5 weeks with our wonderful grandson, Nathan, from Olathe, KS. He's quite a kid. But now realize why God made it so we have these babies when we are young. We had fun in Des Moines, Winterset, Knoxville and Pella, Iowa for a week or so. Also took him to Branson/Springfield. Had a blast there. Luckily we had great weather, so when all else failed (or we ran out of money) we just took in the pool at the RV park! We also spent one day in St. Louis. He'd never been to...

May 21, 2010 - GEOCACHING
We have our "almost" 6 year old grandson, Nathan staying with us for a couple weeks. His last day of school was Thursday. Nathan and his Mommy and Daddy live in Olathe, KS. I drove halfway yesterday evening and met our son, Darren to pick Nathan up, or as he calls himself, "a first grader"! Jim had been talking about trying some of the "geocaching" in our area. Hoping it would be something fun to get out and do with Nathan. We took on our first two this morning. The first was a very easy find. The second was deep in some woods behind a...

May 12, 2010 - Great Mother's Day Weekend
We had a great Mother's Day weekend with the family. Darren, Sherry and Nathan arrived from Kansas, Friday evening. Saturday I'd signed up Nathan to do the Lowe's kid's building for Mother's Day. He made his Mom a really cute "trellis planter". While the guys were at Lowe's, Sherry and I hit Kohl's for some "retail therapy". We then met the guys on the other side of the interstate at Rural King where Nathan got to pot a plant (free) for Mother's Day. It fit perfectly in the plant trellis from Lowe's. That afternoon we drove over towards...

Apr 19, 2010 - HOME SWEET HOME
We made it home today around 2:30. What a great 12 days we had getting home from the valley. We made our 2 day stop at the Texan RV Park (formerly Twin Lakes RV Park) outside Athens, TX after leaving the Hill Country. A very quiet, peaceful park. We parked closed to the laundry so I could catch up while Jim went to meet with Sathera, the guy he does contract work for. Jim was back to the park around 1:00 and it was a beautiful afternoon and we just enjoyed setting outside and watching the ducks on the lake. Tuesday we drove 85 miles to...

Dec 22, 2009 - Closing One Door, Opening Another
Posting from my recliner, wrapped in my "snuggie" in Wentzville, MO. Well, I know it's been a while since I've posted. So, as my title explains we (or Jim) is closing one door and opening another the next week. He will be quiting his job at "Centurylink". On Monday the group he's been working with had an "hasta la vista" party for him. Cathy one of his co-workers (he and Cathy worked at Charter Communications, also) made this great cake that looked just like Harvey. She does the cake decorating as a second job. It was so cute and hated to...

May 21, 2009 - Papa's Broken Heart Is Fixed!
Papa's broken heart is fixed! That's the way we are explaining all this to our 4 1/2 year old grandson. He's been so worried about Papa's "broken heart". When I talked to him last night in Kansas, his Mommy said he was smiling from ear to ear when he heard the news. Jim went into surgery at 7:30 yesterday and got out at 1:30. He did great! Had 4 bypasses. They put him in ICU and by 3:30 they had removed the breathing tube. He looked great and was pretty alert. I came home and crashed for the night, had been up since 3:30 AM. I called this...

May 8, 2009 - JIM'S SURGERY
Just an update, Jim went to see the surgeon yesterday. He'll have surgery Wednesday, May 20. We got to see the video of his heart cath, something to see. The one artery is not sending any blood through it, but could see how other veins pulling blood in from the other side. Good job "McGyver"! Also they kept stressing what a "strong" heart muscle he has. The Dr. feels the problem has been there quite some time and waiting a couple weeks will not be a problem. He'll probably have 4 to 5 bypasses. Dr. also made him feel good by saying since he...
