Aug 14, 2016 - The Small search

We were not sure if this was something that we were going to be able to live with. We were going to be down sizing quite a bit but by how much? This was the question. the biggest concern we had was were we are going to put Ramsey and if we were to have another child at in something so small. Eric knows how I am and I know how I am I am not going to be able to function with kids under my feet. They need to have their own space. What we wanting to know was if there is something out there was going to accommodate a family. We decided that the...

Jan 18, 2013 - Wild Animal Safari

We had quite a "wild" day today. We visited the Wild Animal Safari in Strafford, Missouri. It is only about 50 miles from Branson, we were told not to miss this, we are so glad we went, it was incredible! What makes this park so much fun is seeing the animals up close and personal. They have learned that people in the cars driving through the park have special treats for them. They follow your car all over the park and come right up to your window for the treats. Jerry almost caught his finger in the window trying to close it fast when a...

The 154 miles from Lost Valley Resort to Strafford, Mo and Rebecca drove the entire distance. We’ve been to this little Strafford RV Park before, four years ago when we came this way back then. It may not be much to look at but it’s clean, has good strong electricity, and most of all inexpensive. It’s $25.00 per night! We’ll be here for 5 nights to wait for November 1 , to stage ourselves for getting into Branson. There’s a Camping World store across the freeway from the park, we need a few things, so we’ll go there at least once. There are...

Oct 10, 2008 - Springfield, Mo

We traveled the 190 miles to Springfield, Missouri on I-44 from St. Louis. Rebecca drove much of the distance till we arrived at the RV Park Strafford, roughly 5 miles east of Springfield. Just off the freeway by about a block we expected more freeway noise than we have, a pleasant surprise. We found quickly that there are several caves and caverns near Springfield. We chose one, the Fantastic Caverns to go see. It’s a family owned business that takes good care of the cave system they own. Though driving a jeep towing a cart full of people...

Today was a travel day. Headed south and stopped briefly in Lexington, MO and visited the State Historic Site of the battle of Lexington. The battle was a three day struggle in September of 1861. We were able to walk the battlefield and get a feel for a skirmish during that era. We ended the day near Springfield, MO. We hope to get near the Arkansas border and Branson, MO tomorrow. We spent the night at: Strafford RV Park
