May 13, 2013 - Onondaga Caves
Left St. Louis today. First stop was Onondaga Caves State Park. Grabbed at quick lunch and then had a 1 1/2 hour tour of the main cave. Very cool, literally. Cave temp is a constant 14 C (57 F). Continued on to Springfield, Missouri intending to stay at Camp Walmart. First one was too noisy and busy so we switched to another Walmart. Much better although we were beside a road so traffic noise bothered us a bit. Listened to the Leaf game again on computer. 570 CHYM in Kitchener. Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph. Excellent commentary, bad result....

Apr 4, 2013 - Starting Point
We're starting our Route 66 road trip In Strafford Missouri. We rode our Goldwing from Chicago to Strafford a couple of years ago so we decided to start our trip there. We'll be riding in our Z4 convertible which should add a little fun to our trip. Our starting point was "Joe's Route 66 Diner" where we had ice tea and talked about Route 66 with the diners owner. It was a great way to begin our trip and we look forward to seeing many other similar attractions along Route 66!

Jan 9, 2013 - Springfield, Missouri
I had a wonderful birthday, thanks a million for all the emails, calls, birthday wishes and awesome gifts. We drove over to Springfield and had a great Mexican dinner. I had the tradition Flan for my birthday dessert. The dinner was awesome, one of the best Mexican Restaurants we have been to. After dinner we did a bit of shopping at the local Sam's Club. We received a gift membership to Sam's from Vickie & Ed for Christmas, thanks guys! We have not been to a Sam's in a while and loved it. We had also planned to tour the Wild Tiger Refuge...

Oct 25, 2012 - Springfield MO - Bass Pro Shop
Made a quick stop in Springfield to take a look at the wildlife displays at the Bass Pro Shop. They were nicely done, but some of the displays are being redone, so we couldn't’t see everything we wanted to see, like the salt water fish tank. Bummer! We did get to camp for the night in the Bass Pro parking lot. That means we got to camp at both Cabela’s and Bass Pro within the same month.

Aug 5, 2012 - Hiccup
After seeing the astounding gateway to the west we have run into a slight detour. Our trailblazing wagon seems to need a little TLC before we continue with the next legs of our journey. We have stopped in Springfield MO and have been showered with much mid-west hospitality. Lewis and Clark remain hopeful and positive that the morning will hold an answer to our problem.

Aug 4, 2012 - And now, some weather
We picked this as our stopping point because going all the way to Tulsa was just too far for one day. Boy, are we glad we did. After parking in the Walmart lot around 6:30 pm, a weather front quickly moved in. Wind gusts, rain, lightning, thunder - we had it all! I am so glad that we weren't driving through it. Highlights along the route today included me driving through St Louis. I generally drive the "easier" legs - open highway, not much navigation needed...you get the idea. Well, today our route found me driving right through the heart...

Belle visite aux "Fantastics Caverns" situe a 50 minutes au nord de Branson (et 10 minutes nord de Springfield). Mar 7, 2012 - Hillbillies on holiday in hillbilly heaven
Blogging early today, Seth is in "fantastic Caverns" with the boys at Springfield, Missouri. I decided not to go in because I don't like caves or caverns. Addi and I are in the motorhome doing her schoolwork. Thought about going outside because it is sunny and warm here but we are in the Ozarks. And there are hillbillies. So, instead, she is catching up on the last three weeks of school neglect. Will be driving to Kansas City today, get me out of these OZARKS!! Too many hills, winding roads, missing teeth, etc. Bring on the interstate!

Sep 20, 2011 - Let the fun begin!!
Today's start was a little later than usual. Phyl briefly thought that they should stay another day in Tulsa. Bob reminder her they had reservations in Springfield, IL starting Thurs night. Soooo they packed up and got on the road. I44 is toll and under construction in that part of OK, so the entrance ramps aren't friendly. Actually had to go West for about a mile before going East and the entrances haven't been updated for the wider vehicles soooooooooooooooo "curb check" happened a couple of time. Finally on the way. After about 50 miles...

Sep 5, 2011 - Springfield, Mo. - Sub Vets
Sept. 1 - arrived at KOA, Springfield, Missouri. Wanted to get here before the Labor Day Weekend. Bob is putting up another antenna, apparently his air card is loosing signal. We have just as many antennas up as we do computers. Of course, everyone connection needs it's own docking station. The dash of his truck looks like a 747 instrument panel. Bob is so funny..............loves those gadgets.
